GETTIN PIGGY WID IT put up consistently great dishes but were narrowly pipped to the championship by MAY THE SAUCE BE WITH YOU; their first win, big congrats!

After last years torrential rain an gale force winds, it’s nice to see that normal service has been resumed for this years competition! Perfect weather for sampling bbq and sipping on an ice cold slush courtesy of Chilly Pop who will be serving up frozen Strawberry Daiquiris & JD and Cola as well as Blue Raspberry for the kids.

Absolutely love last minute entries!! A big GrillFest welcome to Team RED HOT CHILLI GRILLERS🌶🌶
A combination of previous teams, they are bringing a wealth of experience to the competition. Their name is apt as their favourite ingredient is Chilli, so samplers beware ♨️♨️

We're back again for our 6th year......
When - Sunday 25th August at 12 noon Where - Hadfield St Andrews CC, Newshaw Lane, Hadfield What - The best of Glossop's BBQ talent cooking wings, mince creations, ribs, brisket and dessert for public tasting, judging and enjoying with a drink for our gin & bottle bar or a full range available from the club bar.
... Bringing together beer, fire and meat along with entertainment, activities for the kids and (hopefully) sunshine! A wonderful community event so please share with your friends and family.
We have more teams than ever before which means even more food to go around!
This year, we have teamed up with Cask & Kitchen, Glossop who will be providing the prizes for the winners of each round as well as the Grand Champions.
In addition we will have Smoke and Flame cooking up some treats, Bun & Dusted supplying cakes & cookies for when you've had enough meat as well as Chilly Pop serving a range of slush drinks including full alcoholic frozen cocktails.
Entrance is £3.00 or just £1 for under 12's.

Another team has entered the fray.
Getting Piggy With It join us for the 4th year running.
With previous round wins in both wings and ribs,not to mention their pig on a spit oil drum 2 years ago, we're sure they will be in the mix again this year, especially since rumour has it, they invested in a couple of new BBQ's and the return of team member Steven Lomas

This will be their third year competing and having won a couple of rounds, will be looking to challenge for top honours.

It's been a busy couple of months behind the scenes getting ready for this years GrillFest. We have the following teams all ready confirmed:
THANK GRILLIN' Last year's winners are returning to once again defend their trophy. They were pushed hard last year with their dessert pushing them to the win. The question for this year is...how many more ideas do they have? 🧁
... RIBBED....FOR YOUR PLEASURE Runners up two years running as I LIKE PIG BUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE, will a name change get them over the line? Their burgers were the outstanding entry last year, one more round win will probably see them as champions.
GOOD GRILL HUNTING A mixed bag last year, with two round wins and two disasters giving them a third place finish. Once again brisket winners, they will need to sort out their mince round to pressure the teams above.
The only way to see what happens is to come down on the 25th August and taste for yourself!

The sun has made an appearance and there is a subtle whiff on smoke in the air...it must mean BBQ time is fast approaching.🥩🥩
After last year's slightly weather interrupted (!) event, we are back at Hadfield Cricket Club on the 25th August for more competitive BBQing.
We are very pleased to announce that this year we have an event sponsor, Cask and Kitchen , who have come aboard to provide the round winner and Grand Champion prizes.
... There will be the usual mix of real ale and gin bars, food by Smoke and Flame and also new this year popcorn and slushy's from Chilly Pop!👊💥
