What's not to like??
gloucester roads alright though innit......................
Vibrant, funky, edgy, hip and urban. Great day out for shopping for vintage bargains, great cafes and health food stores.
This is the best in Bristol what more could you ask I love it x
This has to be the most Eclectic shopping area in Bristol! It puts Cabot Circus and Cribbs to shame with the most amazingly varied, vibrant and independent shops you can see in central Bristol. Only Whiteladies Road comes close. Parking may be sparse, but it's much more fun than council sponsored hangouts...
The best shopping street in the UK. Anywhere that has Bishopston Hardware is going to win hands down. Dave Giles meat deserves a special mention too.
Stayed n studied at Brunel Tech College in the mid 70s. Stayed at Church Road and Ashley Down Road. Went back for a visit in 2010, walked along Gloucester Road. Lots of new businesses and great graffiti. Nice!
Please support The Cats Protection League charity shop Bishopston, BS7 8BH. They desperately need donations and told me they could take electricals, rags and allsorts, presumably furniture, as they can send it to other branches or sell it on. 0117 9425148. Ive lived and worked on the G Rd for almost 10 years #LoveTheGloucesterRoad!
My old home and stomping ground.. after a lifetime of 40 years in Bishopston, when away from Gloucester Road you realise what you are missing, the shops, businesses and local people and friends you've know all that long time.
I travel up and down here daily and love the energy and life going on around me as i absorb it all. My favourite music buying place and eateries are here. Proud to be Bristolian.
I love working on Gloucester Road, what a wonderful part of the world!
I have seen many a homeless man on this street, i have urinated in the less than satisfactory public toilets, I have angered many people with my antisocial behaviour. Yet I love this street. I have supported many an independent shop on this road during my short years on this earth, i have done this while doing quite the opposite to larger businesses, I have worn out more pairs of shoes than some of my dear friends can count from walking this road. Yet I love this street. I have had my money taken by faulty self service machines, I have had words of hate spewed at me by angry hippies for my active disliking of pigeons, I have witnessed people cast a blind eye to twelve year olds smoking at the side of the road. Yet I love this street. I have come to realize that amoung all the negatives around this area, there are also many positives. I have, for example looked to see people give food to the homeless, I have thanked these toilets for allowing me to empty my smaller than average bladder, I have met those rare people who are not phased by the antics of my peers and I. This is why I love this street. I have come to see the independent shops to be still in business, I have seen a new morrisons built and that has not put an end to the proud independent businesses, I have had to say goodbye to my shoes yes but more can be bought nearby. This is why I love this street. I have realised that the money I lost can be earned back on this street, I have had friendly folk teach me of more simple ways of disposing of pigeons, I have attempted to reason with the cancerous children but I must admit I lost that one so I found swearing at them to be satisfactory. This is why I love this street. I declare on this day that Gloucester road is a road for everybody, from the homeless man to the prosperous salesmen and business owners. I love Gloucester road and I shall love Gloucester road forever more.
Has anyone found or been handed in a set of keys with a car key on and about 10 keys?
Gloucester Road is a fab place to work, rest and play (I hope that isn't copywrited but tough if it is!)!
I've had my business on the Gloucester Road for nearly 4 years now and its a lovely place to be for me and my patients, its diversity never ceases to amaze me and its uniqueness is outstanding!
If you haven't visited yet, why not??????? Its the UK's longest independent High Street get down here you'll love it!
Saturday's are great, Murray's have their year long BBQ going and the smell wanders down the road enticing you towards it, the pubs and restaurants always have great food and a great choice of local drinks to choose from. We have fruit and veg, try Gloucester Road Fruit and Veg at 135, they are really great value and amazing quality, now Scoopaway, let me tell you this is a little haven, if you have a food cupboard then you can fill it here with all the basics and luxuries you will ever need (though no meat I'm afraid its veggie1)! I think my favourite place to eat of all and I have a few is Babalu, cause I just love their juices and smoothies!
So come down and try it yourself and if after walking its length and breath your feet hurt well maybe I can help you at my holistic health clinic! #OsteomyologyRocks!

I love Gloucester road all the shops you need
