The Common Blue Damselfly can be found around almost any waterbody, or away from breeding sites in grassland and woodland. It is a regular visitor to gardens and is on the wing from April to September. Try digging a wildlife-friendly pond to attract damselflies and dragonflies.

The striking red crown, golden back, and bright yellow wings of the Goldfinch make it one of our prettiest garden birds. You can help to look after garden birds by providing plenty of food and water for them. © Alan Price/Gatehouse Studio
