This morning was a colder start than we have seen for a while, only 4 degrees at 5am. Have you turned your heating on yet?

Sunday 16 September saw the Rutland Marathon & Half Marathon 2018 take place from Sykes Lane, did you take part? George was there, all be it a very last minute thing. Eliud Kipchoge won the Berlin Marathon in a time of 2 hours, 1 minutes and 39 seconds, George managed 1 hour 59 minutes and 48 seconds... for the half marathon. Not my best time, but having not run since June I feel it is respectable.

**local council warns of scam** Money back on your council tax, sound too good to be true, it is! Rutland County Council have warned local residents about a scam where the caller poses as a council employee, don’t be a victim.

Do you have a child who will be turning 16 in the near future? Was your child born between September 2002 and January 2011, if so have you thought about their Child Trust funds? It could be worth digging out the information, this could affect your chid(ren) as if additional payments were put in to these it could provide them with good start to a deposit when they consider buying a property after turning 18. This BBC news article has some more information and suggests a number of people may have forgotten about it, or possibly, not even know it may have been setup.

As The Great British Bake Off returns to our screens it is a sign that the summer is coming to an end and Autumn is just around the corner. With the children going back to school normality is soon to be upon us. So what better time to have a look at your mortgage options. The base rate may have crept up in August but there are some good deals to be had. As a whole of market adviser, give George a call on 01572729399 to discuss your requirements and see what might be possible for you.

Buying your first home is a daunting and expensive process. Your home is likely to be the most expensive item you will ever own! Once we find you the right mortgage for your needs and circumstance you will then start to think about what to fill your new home with. Kitting out your first home does not have to be expense, with the increased stamp duty threshold for first time buyers you can use this saving to fully kit out your new home. Argos clearance is a great place to start with savings in all areas including crockery, 12 piece sets with 20% off, some TVs with £100 off. There is obviously a number of places you can pick these items up, but worth a look.

The members of the Monetary Policy Committee voted unanimously to raise the base rate from 0.5% up to 0.75%. The last time the base rate was above 0.5% was February 2009. This is possibly good news for savers who may see their savings rates increase.
Those who have a mortgage which is on lenders standard variable rates thinking that rates are staying the same are highly likely to see their monthly mortgage payments increase as quickly as 1st September. So if your in a positi...on where your mortgage is on the lenders variable rate or you are coming to the end of a fixed period, give George a call on 01572729399 to see if we can help you.

interesting read about the number of new homes built vrs the number of babies being born. "affordable housing" and the number of new properties being built is something everyone seems to be aware of but to see some figures against the news is interesting to see.

I would have no hesitation in recommending George to anyone needing advise on Mortgages. I handed him a rather complicated portfolio of buy to let properties to secure new fixed rate mortgages on. He was very thorough in his research and very patient explaining all the options available to me.

Thank you George for all your help I will see you again in 5 years time!

User

I would 100% recommend George to any one looking for a mortgage, being self employed he found the most suitable mortgage quickly, managed to get good monthly repayments and came to my work place to do it around my bookings.

The best thing over all was every time i rang/ messaged George moaning what was taking so long with the solicitors, he would have an answer within the next 10 minutes!

Will definitely be using him again

User

I honestly can't thank George enough. He made getting our mortgage simple and easy, and found us a better rate, shorter term and lower monthly repayments, than we had originally been offered. I would recommend George 100% to anyone buying a home. :)

George has been beyond helpful and accommodating for us. He worked tirelessly even though we were trying at times with 3 failed purchases!! We have now just completed on our first house and non of this would have been possible without George’s expert advise. We would 100% recommend!!
