Customer service non existent in Exeter.

Waited a month whilst the boots they recommended were sent back for being faulty for the second time. I called 4 times as was promised a call back with an update, not once did they call back.
I went in store to chase up the news and a young lady had the information, Salomon had issued a credit weeks ago but because my requests to chase had been ignored they were blissfully unaware. I didn’t have time to pick new boots so she said just come back when’s convenient and the credit is waiting for you. She told me I had a credit to the current selling price of the boots.

I visited today and was astounded at the inexperienced staff flapping as the person who dealt with the complaint was on holiday and they couldn’t find any paperwork.
The “specialist” who advised me into buying the £150 Salomon boots now advised me not to buy that brand as they’re nothing but trouble. Selected another boot after waiting around for 15 mins before anybody was free to serve.
Get to the till and I’m now told I can only have £99 credit as all paperwork lost, in fact they couldn’t even find the key to the cash office. I’m faced with a long line of customers glaring at me as they’re so short staffed on a Saturday only one other till was open. After watching a young lad radio all various departments in a vain hope of some assistance and do 3 laps of the store looking for salvation, he returned to say there was nothing more he could do.

He was most apologetic and embarrassed to the point of blushing. He then spent what seemed an eternity punching numbers into the till and cursing under his breath. He wasn’t trained to do this he said, seeing the ever growing queue of impatient customers waiting, 2 even walked straight out shaking their heads at the poor service.

So 6 weeks after taking my boots back he refunded the money onto my card and I’m still getting wet feet every day when out walking the dogs.

Thanks for nothing Go Outdoors 😩

Big store with lots of stock/Good visit / staff friendly & helpful 😊- found what we wanted, lots of different options & ended up getting additional things that didn't realise Go Outdoors sold.

Always great for picking up a deal. Can usually find what I need and staff are uber friendly. Parking can be a bit precarious - smallish spaces, but there are alternatives if you don't mind a walk

First time in this store today & had no problem finding what I wanted, with a very helpful salesperson who could not do enough for me. I happily signed up for my `Discount Card` & will become a regular shopper here. 10/10 & five stars.

Shelfs were a bit bare lots of items not stocked compared to my usual store in Bedford. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Huge range of stuff from specialist kit to family camping. Very good pricing. Excellent staff and strong support for local community organisations.

Reserved a bicycle for collection from the Exeter depot. had a text to say it was ready to collect. Popped in an hour later to find it was in fact not ready and was being 'PDI' checked and would only take 20 mins ( no problem)

Came back half an hour later to be told it could be up to 3 hours longer. I suggested that I may not be able to make it back I was told that now it would be ready in 15 mins! (Seems unlikely!)

I left it another 40 mins anyway as they seemed to be struggling. When I returned they told me that bike would not be ready at all and may not even be ready for the following weekend...

Half my Sunday totally wasted I wasn't even fussy on which particular model I purchased although they seem to be unable to ready any of there bikes in a reasonable amount of time.
Unacceptable Customer service and clear lack of experience/management.

Still waiting to know if/when the bike might be ready! Depending on how they handle this I may change my opinion but in regards to bikes I'd stay well clear. Very disappointed :(

A wide variety of outdoor products and suitable for all budgets. Some lively school holiday activities sometimes. Excellent atmosphere.

A huge selection of items from a-z. Many high-quality things & even a climbing wall that is open alot of the time to have a go for free!

It's a great shop but I would love to see more fishing equipment, particularly clothing and bivvies. I've seen they have room outside to display tents and there would be plenty of room for a few bivvies. Go outdoors would make some serious money out of an ever increasing demand in the fishing sector :-)
