Awful service. I gave up after waiting 15 minutes to be served at the till! Only 1 till was open & they were dealing with customers returning items. The manager even saw that but didn't bother to get another till open, even though there were quite a few employees just wandering around the store. Shoddy management.

You can not TRUST this store.

I have used the sheffield branch for a while and always had good service until recently.

This all started with a purchase of a Quest electric grill. The review of the product was five start with a great review so we bought it and took it camping.
Here is my review that Go Outdoors has not posted on this product after four days of me posting it.

This device is a FIRE risk!!
If you are cooking lean meat then it works great. However if you are cooking burger, sausage or other fatty foods then it could explode into fire as ours did.

The fat the comes off your food will drop into the drip tray and collect there but if fat hits the heat element on the way down it will combust into flames and land in the drip tray and ignite the rest of the fat creating a large fire. I was fortunate that it only burnt my gazebo and not the tent

PLEASE DO NOT BUY

As you can see this is a dangerous product. I have returned this to Go Outdoors sheffield who have refunded me for the grill. I spoke with a manager called Tom who commented he thought it looked like a fire risk when he first had seen them in the shop. This made me wonder why this company would sell this to us when even there own staff don't think it is safe I asked if they will stop selling them due to the actual danger they pose to people. Also I wanted to know about a replacement for my gazebo that got damaged. I was told he would take it to his management and get back to me, that was five days ago.

In conclusion Go Outdoors are willing to sell dangerous products to make a profit or why would they not post my honest review of the product. I hope this stops other people from buying this product and risking a serious fire

Nice enough shop (bramall Lane, Sheffield) but the service at the till was poor.
Why they think it's acceptable to make me feel uncomfortable/awkward whilst giving them my cash is puzzling. Topped it off with a sarcastic goodbye.
Plenty of outdoor shops in and around Sheffield to choose from.
Goodbye gooutdoors.

Brilliant camping and outdoors shop. Everything you'll ever need, on a budget, or high end products.

Walking boots falling apart after 6 months, took them back to store to get them replaced and have been refused store refund/replace. Duty Manager very unsympathetic/non understanding and quite rude. Accused me of not using the shoes correctly and not maintaining them correctly. I walk in them every day (labelled as shoes for every day/heavy use) and leave them to air on the porch when not being used. The duty manager made out that I over used the boots, hence why they are falling apart. The tread on the sole is as good as new, there are no scuff marks and there isn't any bending of the boots in unusual places. The sole is coming away from the boot and the boot has split across the toe bending point. They aren't waterproof anymore, obviously. They want to send the boots off to the manufacturer which (as per their website) can take 14 days for a response, to confirm that they are not fit for purpose and have broken through poor manufacture. Then I will only be issued store credit. I need boots for my work (dog walker - online folk also tried to accuse me of misusing the shoe for work; were also rude and unsympathetic) which means I now have to work in trainers for 2 weeks or spend more money buying more boots. I've been shopping here for about 10 years spending hundreds of pounds a year. Not any more!
Shocking customer service.

UPDATE: I handed these boots to store on Tuesday the 20th of September. It's now 7th October and still no news. I have rang store and they haven't heard from the manufacturer. My guess is the manager didn't send the shoes off to the manufacturer til the following week out of spite, otherwise I would of heard back by now (2 week response time from manufacturer as per t + c)

Further update: eventually I went in to store and complained about how it had been 3 weeks with no response since sending off the shoes. I made a complaint to the actual manager about the duty manager at the same time. The manager refunded me my money (at this point I outright refused store credit) and his comment regarding the duty manager was 'hes old school'.

I have been back, because the store has some fantastic items in, and ultimately they (eventually) resolved my complaint. I haven't seen the duty manager there since, and I don't buy my walking boots from go outdoors any more.

Bought some Berghaus boots and waterproof coat and fleece 9 years ago, still wearing boots for snow and fishing and coat for winter and rain, perfect.

Helpful staff, well stocked in most areas. Can always find what you're after. Store gets very hot in summer.
