Go Outdoors Derby

We normally go to Hanley but went here for a change. This store is much larger with a lot more good's. Really much better.

Great store. Staff were super helpful! Was in and out in no time with exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend. 10/10

Great ranges to suit all budgets. Enjoy exploring 'stuff' from a variety of sports and there are plenty to look into with Go Outdoors.

I got all of my climbing equipment here. Fair price and good range. Can't vouch for other sports or hobbies, but there looks to be a good range for cyclists, camping, fishing and horse riding.

Large shop, lots of stock and choice and well organised. The staff are friendly and helpful too.

We saw a tent we really wanted. Went to the store got the tent which was a bundle deal spent over £500... And Sophie at the till was the most rude person ever..... When you are spending large amounts of money in your shop I just expect a little more customer service..... Was very abrupt with us.. If we didn't really want this tent so much we would have to left it by the till and take my custom somewhere else.... Mite take some persuading to go back.... Craig and Loretta..

Huge store offering equipment and accessories for most outdoor pursuits. Sale prices are good and membership offers further discounts. Large car park to the rear and extended opening hours.

Literally the best camping shop in the world!

loyalty cards fine but the days of membership to get discount in a high street shop?

I ordered a Hi Gear sleeping mat on their website, it said "1 in stock for collection", so I reserved it. They sent me a text immediatley with my reservation number, and said that they will hold the item for 24 hours, so far so good. I went to collect it, gave my name and order number, the assistant went to find my order and returned literally seconds later only to be told it was out of stock. I went straight home and out of curiosity, decided to check the availabilty of my ordered item, and guess what, it said. "1 instock to collect in store now". Not only that, but my original order was still in the checkout basket so I pretended to order 2 of them just to see what would happen, and amazingly it told me they were both in stock!
Incidently I was going to use this store as my main source of gear for a planned coast to coast cycle camping trip, and then ultimately the coastline of Britain.
FORGET IT.... I will go elsewhere, somewhere where the ordering system actually works, and where you don't have pay £5 for a discount card.

Go Outdoors is ultimately a frustrating shop. Their stock checking is terrible. Even if their website says it is in stock at store don't expect it to be there. I would phone and physically get someone to check for you before another waisted trip.

Their price match system is also annoying as they have a long list of websites that they won't accept pricematches from even if they meet all of the price match criteria. The Staff also seem to be briefed to be extrmemly miserable and reluctant whilst doing price matches making the entire process unpleasant.

Despite all of this you don't get a better range or quality outdoor clothing and equipment on the high street so for want of a better option locally this is the best place to go.

At the end of the day it is not that cheap and the internet is probably a better bet for quality outdoor gear.
