Went there yesterday for Sunday Lunch. Really impressed, food was delicious, they had a really good range of drinks too. Both the garden and the toilets were really clean which is a real bonus. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Swindon. Thanks for a lovely afternoon

We went in on Saturday pm for a bite to eat. Car park about 150degrees but inside beautifully cool. Food arrived speedily and the waiter very pleasant and took my insulting banter in good spirit. Top marks all round!!

We stayed B&B for 1 night,all the staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was clean and tidy and the brekfast we had was second to none.

We found the Goddard Arms very pleasi g they booked us in showed us our room the food was very good didn't have to wait long for it to arrive the staff were very pleasant and room was fine would stay there again

Was given a gift experience for xmas and we used it for our anniversary, well what can I say, amazing food and fantastic staff! Couldn't have asked for more thank you to everyone at the Goddard arms that made our evening memorable x

Lovely friendly place and their steaks are always cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce best I've had in a long time

Although there is a lot of competition in this upcoming vibrant town the Goddard Arms is still above the rest. Great food, drinks and staff. The manager is also a constant delight.

We had a big room, the bed was very comfortable and I slept better than I do at home. Could do with a set of drawers if you are staying more than one night.

Dinner was good as was breakfast.

Bathroom needs looking at, no heating in there made it very cold. The dead ivy trapped in the window needs clearing away. And the toilet roll holder is too far from the toilet.

But it was a nice way to see the new year in.

Very nice decor and great seating arrangements. We just called in for pre drinks before our meal at an Indian restaurant. The choice of beers and ciders was good and we enjoyed our drinks. Have visited here many times.

Really quite like the place. I remember going there as a kid when Reg Thompson was manager/owner (friend of my Dad's) - nice guy. It's changed a lot, but then everything does. Always appears to be short staffed for such a popular place - and they ought to stop serving my Sister so much Doom Bar - but hey! Peace and Love xx

Historic hotel with a very nice atmosphere. The menu didn’t have everything available but the food we had was very good.

Great place to start off from with other pub's and clubs around had great reunion there with ex army colleague's absolutely fantastic night Havant seen these guys in 35 years

We had a frosty start - we were there for a work do and initially didn’t have full use of the space we had booked but staff were pretty high-handed and we didn’t feel very valued at all! But the situation improved and the buffet was great value. Bar staff remained aloof - one in particular managed to look right through me as I was waiting to be served; there are certainly friendlier places in Old Town!

It is a nice venue and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately staff did not give us steak knives with our steaks until we asked for them. Brought out the Birthday cake with no side plates, had to ask for them! They need to pay attention to minor details which are important to customers!

Good pub...but never enough bar staff on a Saturday night..need more than 3-4, often wait for ages, then give up and go somewhere else.

Booked the breakfast area for a private party and on the whole a good experience! Nice food and the catering/kitchen staff were excellent. Only down side was the rudeness of the bar staff and the attempted tidying up around us when the party was still going, also our agreed finishing time was changed with no more than 60 minutes notice.

The bar staff leave a little to be desired quiet Tuesday 1 girl serving 3 people waiting to be served manager and 2 other members of staff saw us but no one bothered to come and serve shocking attitude to customer service ide sack the lot and train new staff properly.

Stayed here for the night. Food is good but rooms are very noisy and parking is a complete nightmare. Finally got to sleep after midnight after noise from the bar had died down. Wouldn't stay again but would certainly eat here.

Service is bad.... 30min to get a drink... they clearly can't work under pressure...staff just serve at random... they haven't got a clue who's next ... Waited 1/2 hr for food to be told they've ran out :(

Not good customer service.

Roast dinner wasn't nice veg hardly cooked and gravy was like water.burger had lots of hard bits in which the person was put off of eating it.

Should of sent our food back.

No pinot

Vegatables totaly uncooked totally raw .

Wow what a rude member of staff. I ordered two pints on a Saturday night and the guys just said £7.90. I said (could I have a please with that) he replied (what ever pal it’s a Saturday night of course I’m not happy) I then replied (you’re in the service industry, this is life)



So shocked at his manner. If I was a drunken person maybe. How rude.

Went here for lunch on Saturday with the family. We were not that hungry so we just ordered chips, garlic bread and a sandwich plus drinks came to £28 ...not a cheap lunch time. Not good value for money. The sandwich we had hope to share was just one half of a bloomer plus lettuce leaves and small pot of chips! Garlic bread was slightly burnt, portions small and service was quite slow. Don't think we will be eating here again. Not good value for money.

Went for a meal with friends on an evening. Food was dreadful I had to send my salad back as the prawns seemed raw or like they had just been defrosted. The service wasn't great

Steak over cooked And grisly . Not at all nice . Asked for other potatoes rather than chips . ie jacket or new pots . Was told that was not an option , but I could up grade to sweet potato chips at a cost . Did not want chips at all .!! My friend tried to

Order something else and was told very rudely he needed to tidy up the bar first .Which really only meant he needed to pick

Up a couple of menus off of the bar . !!! Over priced . Not good quality . Over £10 :00 for a gin and tonic and s coffee . Will never go back there .

Ordered some chips for cost £2.49 I don’t even think there was 20 chips and lukewarm

Food awful...not good service..and if u told them about your food not bein nice .they didn't do anything bout it..so I won't eat there again or my mates ...

Crap food crap service no service food side. food warm not hot. Total Rip off. Went on to a show after burping and passing wind and was ill when got home. Tummy has still not settled now 24 hours later.
