Totally love everything about it - the aromas of the food, eating the food, the seasonings, the fact that the staff advise you on how to eat the food, how to heat it up if you order the food to go. The atmosphere - how the locals and newcomers informally chat to each other. The only issue I have is about the location of the toilets. The stairs to take you to the toilets are really steep. If people are less able bodied (like me, with a Knee injury) to climb stairs in general, to climb these stairs were extremely difficult not to mention really painful.

Stumbled across this absolute gem of a place whilst having a walkabout in Greenwich, and just had to sample the famous London classic dish... beautifully smooth mash, delicious home-made pies with plenty of filling and a generous glug of liquor on top, all washed down with a bottle of ale. Incredibly friendly staff with lots of good banter going on, a good mix of visitors and regulars, and lovely traditional surroundings in which to enjoy the experience - what’s not to like!! I’m fairly sure this won’t be my last visit!!

Popped here last week as live near Brighton now one thing I do miss is this place but thoroughly enjoyed my pie and mash and ordered takeaway to for family as I was down visiting who also said this is the best they have tasted Thanks Goddards looking forward to my next trip x

Perfection as normal. Took mum for a day out. Was giving us the tales of when she was a child and having to get the tram to pie and mash shop and "dont be long or it'll get cold". No microwaves back then. A trip down memory lane for mum. She thoroughly enjoyed it. Xx. Thank you xx.

Outstanding pie & mash. Crumble was wonderful as well. Quick service also. The only drawback was that such a wonderful meal didn’t make it any easier to run around London. :)

Great service, great choice of pies jellied or stewed eels.. takeaway service and the option of hone delivery too😀

Friendly staff seating downstairs and up and a extension ..can also book for a party or function..

Myself and my mates try to visit a few times a Year. You do a boat trip on the Thames have pie and mash stewed eels for my mates. I would recommend Goddard's to anyone especially how eeks are on the menu every day unlike some other pie and mash shops

Fantastic place lovely food & gr8 staff! So happy that they reopened again.. took my mum & sis here when it closed at its previous location where the GBK is now. Even took some pies pasties & sausage rolls home. Such a wonderful atmosphere.. think the communal seating helps & they don't hurry you out of the place when you are finished.. will deffo be back.. it was my place for lunch sometimes when I worked at Canary Wharf.
