About Gogos Waterfront

Windsors Waterfront Restaurant | Cocktail Bar

Gogos Waterfront Description

The Waterfront Restaurant is a family run restaurant set alongside Windsor marina affording us breathtaking views and making us the ultimate destination restaurant.

From our menu you can expect some South African favourites and our take on the classics. Espetadas and sizzling skillets sit beside traditional roasts and brunch dishes, bar snacks get a South African twist with our ‘Sapas’ menu and our cocktails get a creative make over in our Shebeen bar.

We are all about freshly prepared, locally sourced food with some South African flair and flavour.

Please note that while we do offer a small kids menu, we do not promote ourselves as a child friendly environment and while families with young children are welcome before 7pm, after 7pm we aim to provide an adult environment for all of our diners. We thank you all for your understanding regarding this policy.

The gate is closed at night but we welcome all members of the public, when you arrive at the gate, just buzz us in the restaurant, enjoy free parking and come in for a warm welcome and delicious food.

Wonderful place to have breakfast, lunch, dinner & drinks! The staff and atmosphere are wonderful too.

User

Went here Sunday evening for a friend's birthday....not our first visit and won't be our last. The staff were wonderfully attentive and pleased to help in any way. The selection of wines are great and we had a great time getting through them. Food was very good. Would heartedly recommend.

User

I loved this place, beautiful setting and nice ambience. Dinner with my mother was lovely she had the half wrack of ribs which was generous and very tasty £14 I had the spicy chicken burger served in a brioche. The house red a pinotage is very smooth and reasonably priced. (I lusted after the next tables baked Camembert) The breakfast menu is calling to me I need to check out their smashed advocado with poached eggs.

User

Had a great experience at GOGOS yesterday, went for lunch with friends, staff were very attentive, food was exceptional, amazing espetadas, sat outside on the decked area, the staff came and put parasol up , checked if we needed more drinks and even cracked a few jokes with us.

User

Great food, great wine and lovely staff. The view of the boats is pleasant too. Happy to recommend.

User

Beautiful food and restaurant . Very clean and classy . Fantastic service beautiful views must be gorgeous on a summers day . Loved the log fire! Came here last night for my anniversary meal and it was a lovely evening.

User

As always had an awesome evening here tonight. Loved the lemon drop martinis! The guy who served us was pretty awesome too

User

Another great evening at GOGO's last night, we dined in the shebeen and had the endless ribs which were cooked to perfection, the meat practically fell off the bone, came with fat chunky chips and a choice of dips.

Sadly, I only managed a second rack as I had to help out with my wife's second helping.

As usual, the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Definitely one of the best spots in and around Windsor, whether it's for drinks with freinds, or a family meal on that special occasion.

Always a laid back but vibrant atmosphere, the location is very picturesque with views over the marina and across to the racecourse.

User

Amazing time. Ella, we love you. Only place I’ve ever been that combines my four passions - horses, boats, amazing drinks and great food!

User

Absolutely brilliant food. Lovely staff and really nice well stocked bar. Can't fault it

User

A wonderful experience dining in this delightful restaurant next to the Windsor racecourse. Melissa, who sounded so lovely when she took my booking over the phone, was even lovelier in person when we arrived at the restaurant. The service was impeccable, Melissa and all of our servers were so friendly, chatty and so accommodating. And the food was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend this gem of an eatery to anyone...thank you!

We popped in for lunch after swimming in the Jubilee River Swim. The outside seating area was full but that wasn't surprising given the glorious weather. We were seated indoors almost straight away. I had the butternut salad which was amazing. My friends had the spiced chicken burgers with sweet potato chips and they were all very pleased with their meals (both quality and quantity). Most certainly will return if in the area.

I went for dinner alone on recommendation of an acquaintance while in U.K. on business. The view is lovely and it has a nice ambience. Not a stuffy place but casually elegant with a touch of rustic. Interesting combination but that was my experience.

I came early without a reservation and they did not seem to be overly busy. However the service was a bit slow by American standards. I have traveled enough in Europe to know that it is not slow by U.K. standards so I only mention it for the occasional tourist that may happen upon this gem.

The wait staff were impeccably polite and responsive to my request.

I enjoyed the pear martini. Really exquisitely balanced with a smooth vanilla taste, beautiful dried rose petals floating in it and a sugar rim.

Next I had the mussels which I can rarely turn down when I see on a menu. Every bite was delicious as the broth was buttery and herby. They come with chips (fries) that were perfectly fried and salted. I prefer to dip toasted bread in the delicious broth over fries which I requested as well.

Last I had the malva dessert which is a type of sticky toffee pudding. It was heavenly with a beautiful presentation! A nice scoop of vanilla ice cream on top drizzled with caramel ribbons. Except the joke was on me when I took a sizeable bite into it and discovered it was a giant scoop of creamy butter. I chose to laugh it off and enjoy the rest of the malva after I scraped the butter off. I'm sure it was listed in the menu description but I didn't recall by the time dessert came around and I've never seen a giant scoop of butter served on a dessert.

All in all I immensely enjoyed my dinner and am already thinking what colleagues I can bring back on my next visit to U.K.

Four of us (family of 4 adults) dined here a week ago on Friday evening after a family recommendation. The restaurant building frontage itself was deceiving for us, from the outside it looks drab and nothing special until we walked around the front and entered. The decor is really nice, I would say "elegantly casual" with lovely woven willow/rush high back chairs and wooden floors looking over Windsor marina and across the water to Windsor race course. We didnt try much of the menu as 3 of us all tried the Zulu Beef Espetadas (skewered meat and capsicums) hanging vertical over your plate and one Fillet steak. The meat was all cooked to perfection for us, and the fillet esp was beautiful. My Espetada was a bit too cool on serving which they rectified immediately. The seperate bar in itself is fantastic, whether an afternoon treat in the sun or with a meal it has a great ambience; inside, on the deck outside or upstairs on the wee roof terrace. We tried a few gins and the waiter was really knowledgeable in the tastes of each gin, recommending the various style tonics to suit and even a light ginger ale with one, delicious. They were served in large round glasses using fresh herbs like stems of Thyme, sticks of Cinnamon and various fresh fruit depending on the style of gin ordered. Our favourites so far Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz, Nginious Smoked and Salted, Old Tom, Silent Pool and Rhubarb but can't wait to go back to try more... great staff, location (all though you probably wouldn't know it was there from the road) will definitely be back when next up north. - from NZ Kiwis visiting local Windsor family with Sue & Brian Dixon. Thumbs up all round.

We went for dinner, of which the food was OK. The lobster tail was a little dry and no sauce really to complement it.

Although it was fairly quiet, the service really was terrible... we had to ask for our initial drinks, then sat there when they had finished for ages, and had to gets someones attention to bring the wine list, then again waited for ages to order the wine (only again when we asked) and then had to keep asking for beers as no one was bothered at all or even checked us.

The food was ok, but expensive really for the service and general.

Prior to that last year we had been for drinks and quick lunch and it was lovely.

User

The food was great, really enjoyed the ribs, meat was just falling off the bone. Service could have been better. Waiters not very attentive, tried to do too many things at the same time rather than having someone allocated per area. We had to wait 30 minutes just for the drinks. My food only showed up when I asked for it although everybody else had their meal. No one attended our table in between to ask if we wanted more drinks. No goodbye or thanks when we left although we walked past two waiters when exiting the building.

User

It was ok. The 1lb burger was delightful but I’ve tasted better ribs elsewhere. Burger and sweet potato chips and ribs and sweet potato chips plus olives as nibbles and a medium glass of house red and a bottle of good non alc beer £60. Mmm - not quite worth it!

User

We Moore the boat here often and every time it’s service with an attitude! Told can’t sit out side it’s booked. We waited 1hour 20 mins for under cooked food, then told window seats were booked 1 hour 20 mins later still no one at the window seat last ones to get served. Hair in food scowling looks from waitress every time she walked past. Great place, great views, staff are jumped up little

User

Quite honestly the place is now a complete rip off . I used to go there a few years ago and it was great ...went there with my girlfriend on a Friday night and not only was we rushed to order ( even though we had booked ) the food was well below average considering the London prices ...we had scotch egg for starters ( £8 ) thinking it may be a bit special but it was literally a tiny scotch egg heated up....really !!! Anyway after the worlds most expensive egg we had monkfish and prawn currry ( £18 ) consisting of one decretive king prawn and about four tiny frozen prawns along with four tiny cubes of tasteless monkfish , some out of a jar korma source and uncooked hard rice ....after complaining we was refunded for our mains although the chef did not agree obviously....so we walked out of there £60 lighter for a few drinks and two eggs ...and still hungry ....seriously I've eaten out in every restaurants in the area but never have I experienced such poor value for money . But I will say the waiting where extremely good and if I'm honest probably the only reason they don't get more complaints .
