Golden Square Touring & Camping Park

This is a very clean and friendly site theres plenty of room and very good play areas for the kids we had a very good long weekend here and will be going back next year
This site is very secure with AMPR cameras so unless your cars on it u wont get in 5***

Not impressed we were'nt told that we couldn't get back into the caravan site with the car after 2330. Had to leave car in the late arrivals area.
The pitch sizes were not big enough for a caravan, awning and car to be parked, surely this is against regulations!
The showers, although lovely and clean, sprayed out in a cone shape and got everything in the cubicle wet, except me!!

Well organised, friendly and helpful staff. Great location and facilities. Excellent play areas for children and marked dog walking area.

We received a friendly welcome on our arrival. All caravan/motorhome pitches were gravelled and clearly defined and not too close to your neighbours. Toilet block was always clean (even on a day when we had torrential rain all day!). Site was well cared for and maintained. Great dog walking area in an upper field which gave good views of the surrounding countryside. People around the site were pleasant and friendly. The shop stocked a wide range of items but they were expensive. Not far to go to Helmsley (3.5miles) and to visit Riveaux Abbey or Terrace. Both lovely.

the older women who serves you at this place is the most rudest woman I have ever met from booking over the phone to serving you in person she is so abrupt and has a major attitude problem. also the pitch is not level. the mini golf is very poor. the golf clubs are so old they break. and then the owner acuses you of breaking them and and won't give you the £5 deposit back. money spinner. the shop prices are high and the other staff are not so friendly either. on the plus side the toilet block is clean.. that's about it. can't understand the 5stars.

Nice site, good and clean facilities, on the downside ground on our pitch and others around us lots of stones under grass, take heavy duty tent pegs

More information could have been given at check in regarding pitch layout to avoid campers having to work out for themselves. Otherwise a lovely site.

Great place to go camping, 2 parks for the kids to play in keeps them very busy. only gets 4 stars because it could do with a better indoor area for kids.

Huge site, 2 outdoor playgrounds, indoor games room, crazy golf, football field, dog walking area, plenty of toilets, showers etc across the site. Staff were extremely welcoming and even let my kids pick some free sweets. Shop is full of everything you need plus local meat, sweets, preserves etc.
Negatives: WiFi extremely expensive and paid by amount downloaded rather than time, £15 minimum spend in shop to use card, who uses cash these days?

Great site, discovered it this season and due back for third visit soon. Washrooms very well maintained, grounds well kept, two good playgrounds and indoor play barn. Lots of open space, football field and dog walking paths. Wardens do a great job and very helpful. Keep up the good work and we look forward to being back soon.
