Travelled all the way from leicester just to have the amritsari Kulcha loved it tasted exactly like how the make it in Punjab.. lovely friendly welcoming atmosphere will defiantly be coming back soon. Thank you

This place is a gem when it comes to north indian food or more like Punjabi food. Not only food is amazing , service is great too and prices are value for money. Very nostalgic too, reminds you of being in a dhaba in Punjab. Jeep up the good work

User

The place might not look top notch but awesome food though! Love the rajmaa chawal... Definitely worth a visit...

User

Many friends said about this place. That's why we try first time yesterday and realise all friends was not wrong. Food was delicious and friendly staff. Must be try again .

User

I come here once a month the service is a lot better now than when they first opened the food is lovely the kids enjoy it here as well the only downside is no alcohol

User

Have eaten in and had takeaway from here. Yes the service is slow but once you taste the food you will definitely go back. They are busy Friday and Saturday nights so go early. Nice family place to eat out at. Decor is not all that. But its Punjabi food cooked to your taste. Love their chilli paneer and mixed grill. At some pubs and restaurants the mixed grill has that burnt singed taste and look but not here. If you can overlook the slow service you will love their food. They don't serve Alcohol.

User

The food here is great, especially their signature dish which is Amritsari Kulcha, this is absolutely delicious. Great food & service set in dhaba style surroundings.

User

Testy food. I would try again.

Ok..so our first visit to GDD...hubby, the kids and I.. parking can be difficult but was ok for us on this evening. Quickly sat at our table as we had prebooked.. Ordered starters..paneer tikka was small triangle of fried paneer in a batter..no salad to accompany it..served on its own.. we felt the price for this was too high...but it was tasty, aloo tikki was a generous portion and also very tasty.

Mains where Palak Paneer, dhal makani and shahi paneer...all very nice...butter nans not buttery enough.. but nice size...salad was usual tomatoes cucumber and onions...and we asked for achaar too...

Meal came to 45£ including 2 cans of pop for the kids. 1 female and 1 male waiter...rushed off their feet bless them...and due to this we had to get up twice to ask for napkins and top up of water...

Where not asked if we where happy with our meal as most places do...

Would we visit again?? Yes..but would not order starters again...

Food is delish and server nice and hot..

Service was the only let down for us...

Did not use the toilets...so can't comment..

All in all we'd give it a 6 out of 10..

If you want home tasting indian food that's not too pricey...this is your place!

It’s pretty decent food

We reached and sat to hear the waitress come up to us and say "you shouldve asked me before you sit" ...Good start? Well,no! If u have a reservation or want guests to be seated specifically, pls be available when guests enter or put a board to wait to be seated. 14 of us had to had to sit on different tables while we had starters. We had to go and place order for food at the counter to which we were told we don't know ur tables...It's so confusing.. something the staff should be aware of! Then we ordered main course (which came only after 1.5 hours meanwhile few guests left without eating too) they then gave us joined tables to sit together....Finally the food arrived,we were all exhausted handling kids and starved.

The only feel good factor abt this place- kulcha and chole bhature...Yummy food. But service and staff was worse than what we expected.

P.S: we came all the way from Manchester. Happy that we got good food atleast. Even some of my friends got some unreasonable answers from then when asking to join tables or placing order.

Service is very very slow, unorganised, staff is running clueless, not informing customers why their order is late. They asked people to sit on tables with leftover food from the previous customers, didn't clean tables after clearing the utensils. People were fuming coz some of them were waiting for more than 2 hours. They gave priority to takeaway orders than the people who were sitting patiently waiting for their food for hours. I assume it's management fault coz only couple of guys were serving to the full hall. Guys if you have plenty of time and nothing much to do then Golu da dhaaba is suitable place to utilise free time, while waiting you will have some free entertainment in the form of people cursing the staff or having an argument with them. Food was okish nothing exceptional for which I'm not going again ever. That's all I can add. Good luck with your adventure at Golu da dhaaba.
