A really good freebie
If you get a dog, you are that dog’s whole world, ideally for life. So please if you can no longer keep your dog remember how much he will miss you and need to be in the right hands and the right home to be able to accept what has happened, do contact a charity or rescue centre to see if they can help with rehoming.
this is truly gorgeous - enjoy
This chemical can be found in many sweets, takeaways and processed foods (for humans). In an ideal world, our dogs would only eat dog food or treats made specially for them or meat, veggies etc, but I know many owners treat their dogs with human foods too. Please be careful and make sure you know what ingredients are in any food you feed your dog, even just a small taste of something can cause a lot of harm.
Today is World Animal Day. So please take a few extra minutes to value your animal friends today after all, their whole world revolves around their human. Please also send love and hope to those animals who aren‚Äôt lucky enough to be cared for properly üíï
In the lead up to Christmas (yes I know it’s a little way off still) there will be more unscrupulous puppy sellers out there so please be vigilant. Any decent breeder will not sell you a puppy for several weeks before Christmas arrives.
What a clever little idea üòÄ
My dog and cat snuggle up together too - does your dog have a snuggly friend? Do post your photos below üòÄ
I use the Photizo as a routine part of my sessions and also hire the units out to clients who have experienced enormous success with them from wound healing to easing muscle and tendon strains. If you would like to try using Photizo light therapy, please get in touch.
I attended an amazing day of talks by Dr Martin Fischer today, the author of Dogs in Motion, a fabulous study looking into locomotion and biomechanics of a wide variety of dogs.
Watching the footage of so many different dogs motion patterns and how this can affect their bone structure and muscle patterns was fab. I’m looking forward to putting some off this new research into practice.
Good news for animal welfare to prevent puppies and kittens being sold in pet shops, it’s a great step forward.

If you see a dog with a yellow ribbon on its lead, a yellow harness, scarf or similar, do you know what to do and what not to do?
I first became aware of this brilliant initiative through my vets and Yellow Dog UK (www.yellowdog.co.uk) and bought some yellow ribbons and a bandanna from their website. Since then other companies have come on board and I think this little video from My Anxious Dog UK sums it up rather well.
What a great idea, an online photo show to help keep our lovely doggy friends out of the hot sun and helping to raise funds for dogs in need too. Get those entries in folks üòÄ
Please please please think about how your dog feels in this hot weather before taking him out. His fur coat makes him feel so much hotter than us and hot or hard ground can lead to sore paws.
Consider is it really necessary to take him or can you leave him at home with the windows closed and curtains shut to keep him as cool as possible? What would be better for his wellbeing?
Think about the time of day you go for a walk - aim for early mornings and late evenings even its fr...esher, avoid 10-5 when it’s really hot and the pavements may burn his paws.
Take water with you for him to drink.
Consider a cool coat if it’s necessary for him to go out during the day.
I was so disappointed at a local country show today to see over 150 hot dogs out in the baking heat of the day for several hours and only 4 with cool coats. Hardly any owners had water bowls or had found shade and many dogs were being dragged around looking as though they wished they were somewhere else or sat panting in the full sun whilst their owners were watching events in the ring. It was so sad to see so many owners completely unaware of their dog’s distress. I just hope the more knowledgeable owners can spread the word to help our wonderful doggy friends.
