As you immerse yourself in the splendour of #BritishBaroque at Tate Britain look out for these two works on loan from the GAC: James Thornhill's mythological sketch for Blenheim Palace & Peter van Bloemen's portrait of the Duke of Marlborough. Power and illusion at their best!

'Stone', a 2017 sculpture by London-based artist Prem Sahib, presents a mass-produced drinking fountain contained within a block of pigmented resin. It replicates the drinking fountains once installed at Chariots Roman Spa, an East London sauna and meeting place for the local gay scene, which closed in 2016 after almost 20 years of operation. By encasing the fountain within a shimmering blue resin, Sahib’s work is a transformative piece in which a relic of a modern day ‘ruin’ is effectively preserved and memorialised #lgbthistorymonth #lgbthistory
