Happy Birthday Mr Wainwright! A great inspiration to our owner here at Granny Dowbekins, who regularly gets out on the fells to sketch his own interpretations of these famous views...see if you can spot them on our walls next time you're in!

Today's Trip Advisor Review. Such a good headline!!
What a refreshing change not to have ones leg lifted!
What a refreshing change to go to a tourist hot spot and be served very good food , quickly and efficiently in a clean, well thought out place . With a smile and friendly chat from the staff and such good value too. A real example to those establishments who think their position in tourist Lakeland is a license to charge the earth for substandard food and service. Well done for getting it so right .

We had lunch here a few weeks ago and it was really nice. We had a lovely spot right next to the river. Friendly staff and the place has had a nice re-furb. Our dog was over the moon with his doggy bag lunch and our two boys had fun feeding the ducks with duck food off the menu too. Looking forward to coming back next time we are in Pooley Bridge.

We had just stopped off for a cup of tea and a slice of cake before we embarked on the Ullswater steamer and what a nice surprise it was. I had a cheese and chive scone and a fruity tea which was lovely and a lovely view to boot. Just wish they were open later on an evening as I would of gladly visited again for our evening meal

We had a lovely pit stop here whilst walking the ullswater way. The drinks and cakes were amazing! But I would also like to thank the staff - they were all really friendly

Visited today for the first time and we loved it. The staff were really friendly and the service was great. Dog friendly which was perfect for us, even picked up a doggy bag of meat bits and dog biscuits for our dog while we were eating.

User

Very warm and welcoming. Friendly staff and attentive to our pet dog Bracken. The tea was very hot and comforting and the cakes were so fresh and delicious. We can't wait to come later in the week for more. Maybe lunch this time. 😊 10/10 👍❤

Thanks to staff at Granny Dowbekin’s for use of the new Garden Room for a discussion about Lake District National Park Partnership today. We enjoyed the lunch (yummy!), watching a buzzard being ‘buzzed’ by 2 crows above Dunmallard Hill, and ducks paddling by on the river.

User

Stopped off here for a breakfast which was delicious. I have visited previously for drink and cake - the home made cakes are also delicious! Polite & helpful staff. Following a refurb it now has both indoor and outdoor seating, dog friendly too.

User

Absolute gem in Pooley Bridge! The scones were to die for not to mention my bucket of coffee, which they made just to my liking!

A MUST for dog walkers, both two legged and four legged friends treated just the same, with such attentiveness!

Very reasonably priced, can’t wait to head back when I’ve more time, the food looked amazing!

User
