Went with family for first time since childhood. Had a lovely time, the trains are lovely and the volunteers are very kind. The Gladesman route is a great long ride, can't wait to go again.

Great little place to take the kids and just see very old steam trains and some of the older diesel ones in miniature form. The attention to detail of the trains, track, signals is mind boggling and having the 2 journeys to be able to ride on is great fun.
Even though it's only open on a Sunday and some Wednesday's it's a good few hours to do something different than the normal.
One suggestion is to get a better coffee machine as its just filter/instant. Good quick food selection

Love this place.... more than the kids I think. The lines can get quite long at times but hold on there as it's worth it in the end.

A wonderful family attraction to spend an afternoon at. The train ride takes approximately 20 minutes and there are 2 different routes that you can ride on from the main station. The only downside is that it gets very busy and as such there can be quite a queue, however you are able to watch the trains arriving and departing the station whilst queuing. To conclude, this is a fantastic family attraction and amazing value for money.

Lots of fun for toddlers and kids...little waiting time but you can wait in viewing area...no footpath though, better to go by car!

Took my kids here on Wednesday afternoon (it's open Weds *only* during August). There were between 6-8 steam locomotives running plus a diesel electric and the queues for the red and green routes were no more than 10mins. We haven't visited since the new station building was opened. Great facilities with ticket office, toilets and a café. The main attraction are the rides which are quite extensive criss crossing around woodlands. You barely notice the M25 just nearby. Tunnels and bridges and other trains make the journey enjoyable. A great afternoon for all the family.

Excellent railway. Only issue is the queue due to the ride being such good value for money. One rail loop is about 18min! Would come again. Onsite cafe for drinks and snacks.

We visited last weekend, on the first open day of the year. As the weather was fine it was relatively busy, but there were enough trains running that the wait wasn't longer than about 10-15 minutes.

My 2 year old loved it - he was a little anxious at first, but once we got underway he was thrilled, and the trip was just about the right length.

I thought the price was very reasonable - tickets aren't dated, so you can buy them in pairs and use unused ones on another day, though each trip is short enough that doing routes in one trip is probably the way to go.

I should add that there were some issues on our second trip that extended it out to about 45 minutes. We weren't in a rush and if anything it was fun to see the guys scurrying to deal with mechanical challenges.

Overall a gem of a local attraction that we'll certainly come back to, if my toddler has anything to say about it.
