We went for gentleman's tea yesterday which in my opinion is so much better than traditional afternoon tea if you are more savory like me! Amazing food and impeccable staff! Enjoyed every minute! Will definitely be back! Excellent!
We got married here on 24th september 2017...all the staff were amazing from start to finish. They made our day stress free and as perfect as we could have wished for. Even the planning leading up to it was no trouble thanks to their help..special thanks to lauren moran who got us there and left us in the safe hands of martyna who got everything spot on. Thanks so so much! Anyone looking to get married in style with ease in beautiful surroundings..get married here!! From mr and mrs entwistle x
We came to watch the royal wedding yesterday! Amazing place ... can’t thank the staff enough, they were fantastic.... loved every minute of our time at your beautiful hotel x
Stayed here for my birthday weekend beautiful hotel ,really friendly staff we stayed in a suite which was lovely upstairs was a rolltop bath and rain shower ,there was a happy birthday message with some cake which was yummy which was a lovely touch, also was sky sports in the room which my partner loved ,we had a full English breakfast next morn and was the best I’ve had in all the hotels I’ve stayed in the uk ,the girl who served us was lovely and friendly wish I caught her name , would definitely return here when I visit Manchester again �
One of the best afternoon teas I've experienced in Manchester and I've tried several.
The quality and attention to detail was exquisite.
Similarly the service was also to a very high standard, and I would thoroughly recommend it and will return again ���
My Room I stayed in for the weekend was absolutely beautiful! Victorian/ Edwardian fireplace, original steel beams, Edwardian bathroom with mosaic floor. Cast iron radiation and a huge walk in wardrobe. This room also had a bath tub which was incredible � the bed was HUGE and extremely comfortable. I loved the decor of the whole hotel the school library was quirky. Rooftop terrace was fab and great to chill in the sunshine / evenings. Staff was more than polite, friendly and happy and always happy to help. The Cocktails were fab and again the bar men were ALWAYS happy to add a twist and experiment, a lover of Gin i had some great quirky drinks here. Food was beautiful and breakfast was plenty to choose from. Yet so beautiful and so close to the heart of the city about a 10 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel.
Me & my husband had a really lovely stay at this hotel, staff were very friendly an the bedrooms were nice an cosy, the bed was very comfy. Will be back to stay again I’m sure.
If you want a trouble free Wedding and to be looked after, this is the place for you. EVERY member of staff so friendly and nothing too much trouble! All pre Wedding meetings and discussions so professional yet personal too. On the day I was dubious as the person dealing with us was off and another young woman took over for the main day. I need not have been nervous as professional and perfect in every way. All food on the big day and breakfasts clearly have quality at the heart of it all and this is so obvious. Just go and visit as you will be blown away by this modern yet Victorian boutique hotel.
I can’t even explain how amazing this hotel is . From start to finish, Lauren the wedding coordinator took all the pressure off us organising our wedding day .
Nothing was too much trouble for her and the team .
Even the next morning the staff came up to us asking us if everything was ok.
The little touches in the bridal sweet were lovely .
The hotel is truly unique .
Thank you for making our day the best day that we could of dreamt of .

Fantastic afternoon tea , so much more than we expected and made even nicer by the friendly professional staff who went out of there way to ensure our every need was catered for , thank you Great John street hotel.

Cannot thank Great John Street Hotel enough for making our wedding day so perfect on Saturday. Nothing was too much trouble for them, the food was amazing and they went the extra mile to ensure everything went perfectly and that all our guests were looked after. A special thank you to Tom, Isabelle and Carol for looking after us this weekend and to Lauren, our Wedding Co-ordinator, who helped us plan the most amazing day - she took care of us from our first appointment all the way through and made us feel truly relaxed and confident the entire time. Thank you Great John Street Hotel :-)
Been to many places for afternoon tea and this is our favourite. Food is excellent and service impeccable.
A lovely building with Amazing decor. Our room was fantastic, with the most comfortable bed. There was plenty of tea,coffee and bottles of water for our arrival.
The bathroom was on a mezzanine, complete with a roll top bath, excellent shower and separate w.c. We were provided with robes, slippers, complimentary toiletries and an abundance of fluffy white towels.
The staff were great, and the bar prices were comparable with local bars ( situated close to Spinningfields.)
Would love to return for another stay or maybe an afternoon tea.
Lovely sandwiches, gorgeous scone (bit small though) and nice display of cakes, staff attentive and friendly, and decor very nice, however, same price as the Rirz in London where you get a lot more of everything and unlimited cake..... and it’s the Ritz, home to traditional afternoon tea.....
Celebrated my daughters 18th Birthday at this hotel, the staff were amazing. Very helpful, on hand every minute. My daughter had a fantastic Afternoon Tea, big thank you to Diane, and all the staff, also the food was on point. 😁😁😁
Was there for a wedding reception on the top floor which was lovely. However, let down by bar organisation which left everyone without drinks for far too long- seemed like the wine had to be fetched from downstairs and the staff kept having to go outside to pour draft! Drinks prices on the expensive side too.
