"I’ve been a foster carer for two years. My first placement started in May 2017 with a 12 year old boy who still lives with my two daughters. He initially came to us for 6 months but as time went on the local authority decided it was a good match and a suitable home for him.
Fostering has highlighted for me how much giving my time - which is a precious commodity for anyone to give - and emotionally investing in another person can matter and make such a difference to his/her l...ife. In doing so you are providing a safe, warm, loving environment for someone who needs such support in order to feel that they belong somewhere, enhance their strengths, develop their potential and become the best person they can be.
Not every day is the same – there are ups and downs. But to be quite frank fostering has strengthened my faith that even in today's very cynical world love is still the most important thing we can share."
We're very proud to work with a Foster Carer like Novelette. ❤️

We are delighted to announce that GLF has just been rated Outstanding by our inspectors at Ofsted.
This is the highest rating a fostering agency can get.
It's testament to the hard work and dedication that our carers and staff put in to achieving the best possible care and support for young people. Well done everyone :)
"taking in children who are hungry and neglected, cleaning them up, buying them uniforms and sending them to school happy. Seeing him smiling this morning makes it all worth it"
Only 6% of young people leaving care attend university -
Dorcas from Newham has just received an offer from Oxford University - amazing! "Both of my mums were so excited," says Dorcas Shodeinde. "First I rang my foster mum and then I rang my actual mum," she explains.
❤️ "I hope more kids in care and care leavers will read this and think, ‘If that girl can do it, then so can I’. University isn’t the only option, but it was right for me. As a kid in care, you can do or be anything you want in life – just go for it."
An experience that many children will go through, this Christmas.
It's Anti-Bullying Week this week: Did you wear your odd socks?! A fantastic campaign to make bullying history.
Two care leavers share their stories about the emotional and financial challenges of starting university.
