Massive thank you to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service even though my property wasn't effected the crews tackled 2 fires one on my road (Swinton Hall Road) and one at the back (Not sure if it was Milner Street), these lads had just come off a night shift at Winterhill.

I didn't get which stations they came from so am hoping this gets back to the ones who attended.

Fires are now out and no one was hurt luckily.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the fire crew driving through Urmston on Friday afternoon clearly on their way to an emergency but the whole team waved back to my boys who were so excited to see them. My eldest was sporting my DadŌĆÖs (John Butterworth - fireman for 30 years Heywood/ Rochdale) old GMC fire helmet and has his heart set on being a fireman just like his Grandad. You absolutely made his day!

User

Just want to say, despite the headlines coming in...I stand with our emergency services...You all do an amazing job!!... ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

Big up to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) tonight, after Grenfell the block of flats I live in had a fire alarm installed, tonight there was a small kitchen fire in one of the flats, the alarm went off and within minutes we had 6 fire engines, paramedics and police. Thankfully it was nothing serious but GMFRS, NHS North West Ambulance Service & GMP did us proud. Big thank you to all those that responded

Always loved the Fire Service! I must say Wythenshawe FireFighters Work extremely hard having lived opposite the Fire Station all my life they are always there to help with incidents even outside on the Road. Both myself and 3 Firemen helped a lady in distress last week who had broken down outside my house and they were right there to help! Everyday my 17 month old baby boy watches and waves when they are doing their checks! The Firefighters are always there to wave and smile! I am keen to join you guys at GMFRS and I just hope I am successful after a lifetime of wanting to join. Thanks in particular to Red Watch at Wythenshawe for always making sure you acknowledge my little boy who IŌĆÖm sure will follow suit into the Brigade as he is just obsessed with you! The Firefighters were even there in 1968 trying to resuscitate my Grandad after having a heart attack in my very living room and I am very proud to have lived opposite you guys all of my life. Big Thanks ’┐Į
