Please do not use green motion, they might come across as the cheaper alternative BUT be warned if you don't take out the insurances they will do what they can to keep your deposit. That's how they make money. I hired a small car from the Leicester branch and there was a small chip on the windscreen, they charged me £96, they didn't tell me that the car had to be back by 8am another £12 for 2 hours hire. The chap that checked the car seemed like he was on commission and quite intimidation. I got stung big time. Also the 5 star reviews are completed by staff.

I hired my car rental for 10 days in Leicester and received very prompt service. The staff were very courteous and returning the car was an easy process. I will rent again from there next time I am in Leicester

Used Green Motion to hire a van for our house move. The booking was really easy online. We had to change the date which was easily done by email. Everything went really smooth, the van was brand new and clean. Will definitely use again!!

Staff are always efficient and polite. I've always found staff to really try their best to offer the best service and experience. The cars have been in great shape. The prices are always the lowest. I only rent from Green Motion now.

I hired a van for 4 days at a reasonable price. The vehicle was clean and trouble-free - like driving out of the showroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. Green Motion will now always be my first port of call in the future. Excellent service!

What an absolute con. We hired and paid for a transit van online from green motion and were very happy with the price of £45 for the day, however when we arrived to pick the vehicle up we were given the keys to a small van no where near the size of the transit we ordered, when we complained and said that the vehicle was no good to us we were told that all the transits were out and this was classed as a like for like, after disputing this with the manager I was eventually offered an upgrade for no extra charge which I was happy to except however I was then told that if it was bought back with any slightest scratch or scuff at all I would be charged £2000 unless I pay another £40 there and then to bring that £2000 down to £400. So when I said just forget the whole thing and wanted to walk away I was told I would not be refunded my original £45 that I had paid online. So they had me over a barrel and I had no choice but to pay the extra £40 to bring down the excess. So actually ended up paying £85 to hire a van for the day and not the £45 advertised online. Disgraceful. I will never use them again nor will I recommend them to anyone 😡

Recently hired a van to empty a couple of caravans out. Hash was a pleasure to talk to while he sorted all the paperwork out and the van was brilliant. Just over 1k on the clock it ran better than my car. So, really good service, would definitely use again.

Very convenient location near city centre. I had a very long hire from them (2 months). I found them efficient and helpful and they gave me an upgrade. They are strict about their rules, but fair: if you take it back with a fuel excess they give an allowance on your next hire. Take out your own insurance against their large excess, not their own insurance. I've never had to claim on this, so don't know how they'd handle it. Watch out for their staggering 84 pounds 'administration' fee to report your details for traffic violation authorities, parking etc. But it's all there in the small print.

Hired a car last 4 days with this company who appears cheapest online. Mr Asif dealt with me at first day at counter. He never pointed me about fuel policy they have. I returned my car with sufficient fuel - but slightly less than it was written on form. Probably about 3-4litres less. I was then told to pay £25 for the fuel. I was directed to their wall sign that says fuel policy. I was never told or pointed about this from the beginning. Paying for 25 pounds for what would cost 5 pounds in public petrol station. Ridiculous. Policy should be pointed and made clear on contract form etc. I will not recommend this company to anyone. My colleague also told me yesterday he had bad experiences - they appear cheapest in online search however it cost more than others in the end. Please be careful.

AMENDMENT: Adding to above comments: Company manager has contacted me and responded my complaint email. They offered me some discount on the fuel fee and refund. I settled with their offer. They promise to point customers about their fuel policy at beginning. I give 2/5 rate now instead of 1. They at least respond and took action.

Very Dishonest car and van hire company. I hired a van and returned the van in two days. On my return I parked the van in their parking lot as their yard was full. Then their men moved the van around and must have dented the van. It took them 30-45minutes to check the van and see if any damages were sustained. I definitely did not damage the van but they charged me £400. They are dishonest and not trustworty. Never rent from them again.

Excellent service and helpful friendly staff - always gives unbiased advice and a fair price. The measure of a company is when things go wrong, which they did in my case with a Fiat. There was no quibble they sorted out my issue in fixing it. Would recommend them without question

Great service! We wanted to rent a van for the weekend and they give us the biggest one for the same price as the medium one. They also offered lots of facilities to park it as it was too big for our basement! We've only done a few miles but they didn't charge us for fuel (as it was only a few pounds)!! Definitely we will choose this company again. The only thing to say about it is the deposit is a bit expensive as it's £400 and despite of the insurance, if you have an accident you will lose it. Really friendly staff!!

Very good customer service and a great price for the vehicle ordered. I even got a free upgrade to a luxury car. Also the staff are very friendly and even the top manager in the company made it a point to come and help me. I would definitely rent from them again and recommend them to any potential customer. Well done!
