That's a wrap!
Our Santorini inspired Garden Design & Build is now complete and we have handed back the garden to the client to plant our designed planting plan.

... "Absolutely brilliant from start to finish.
We have a terraced garden which was a concrete jungle. Moreover the access to our garden is just dreadful, no chance of getting anything resembling a digger in there, so we knew that redesigning the garden would be a challenge. We contacted Greenbird following a recommendation and they didn’t disappoint. Chris, Mark and Nick spent over two hours with us getting to know us, our wants and wishes for the garden before going away and designing something which fitted us just perfectly. They captured everything we could have wished for. They were open to changes and we went back and forth on the design to get it to fit perfectly with us as a client and our budget.
Work started in January, a month earlier than planned! Result! As we progressed the communication was excellent. I always knew when they would or would not be on site. At our choice we made changes, added some things on, the Greenbird team didn’t bat an eyelid. We had a quote for the work within hours and it was absorbed into the build seamlessly. The build progressed at speed, even though everything was done by hand - 4 skip loads carried out of the garden via some steep steps, and all materials carried in via the same route! I know I couldn’t have done it!! The result? Magical! Santorini has arrived in Bath! It is better than I ever could have imagined.
They have left us to plant it (at my request) but have given us a full list of what we need, so I look forward to doing that in the next few weeks! Chris, Mark, Nick and the team, we cannot thank you enough. What you have built is simply beautiful. We adore it and can not wait to use it for many years to come"

Tomorrow we will install the ADEZZ producer garden products for professionals Outdoor Fireplace and laser cut Stainless Steel drainage channels from Lateral Design Studio Ltd - how cool are these?
... They are going to look amazing in the evening as we are installing LED light bars in the drainage channels to make a real feature in this small courtyard space.

"We knew our garden would present a real challenge being on a slope with limited access. Moreover, it lacked any real appeal to us to use as a family ...amenity.
It was difficult to manage with existing hard landscaping falling into disrepair, overgrown shrubs, worn out decking and no sense of what it was trying to be. Having decided we needed to remedy the situation we set about finding a company to take on the work. We had several quotes but GreenBird were, not the cheapest but, head and shoulders above the competition. Chris and the team took the time to understand our requirements with sensitivity and professionalism. A bespoke garden design developed over a period of several weeks. A full itemised quote allowed adjustment of materials to personal taste and budget.
The project was completed over late autumn and into winter. This was challenging but disruption was kept to a minimum and the whole team were remarkably neat, tidy and tenacious given the coldest, wettest weather we had had for some time. By the time spring had come the garden emerged like a butterfly from a chrysalis surpassing anything we could have imagined from initial outline drawings and plans.
The garden is a real legacy, having presented some real feats of engineering to assemble the stepped beds from French oak - they look terrific and have been much admired along with the grey slate and Purbeck stone steps. But like all gardens it’s beauty defies its commitment to words .....you cannot really experience the fresh fragrances of lavender and rosemary tinged with the heady perfume of David Austen roses. The latter was planned to take advantage of the Channel breeze which drifts across the seat now perfectly positioned under the cherry tree at the bottom of the garden.....a real haven of peace and tranquility. This is contrasted by the weathered oak Millboard deck which is great for entertaining and enjoying the wider view.
Ten years we have lived in the house and only ventured into the garden to cut the grass, now the house is truly set within the space, both complementing one another. This transformation is largely due to Greenbird’s vision and execution. A really big THANK YOU to the whole team - we would wholeheartedly recommend to all, you will not be disappointed! "
