Very friendly welcome to start things off. The site manager apologised saying that because of prolonged periods of rain the pitches were very soft and water logged in places. (TIP: Take Wellington boots)

We called up prior to camping to advise that we were bringing an additional awning and were told this would be at no extra charge which was excellent.

The site is pretty basic and had we not been slushing around in the mud for the first couple of days we would have enjoyed a fairly relaxing chilled out break.

The kids made friends with a couple of families and played away great. There is a sizable patch of long grass they played in, however, the tents pitch area is tight with little room to run around.

Disliked:
I did struggle with a few things on-site: -

1. Toilet block has 1 male and 1 female shower area and badly needs to be renovated. (I understand this is due to be started)

2. Any amount of rain turns the grass into a quagmire. Cars being towed off the grass and large pools of water forming. I appreciate you can't control the weather and the site manager was very apologetic.

3. Probably just timing but it was like camping at Crufts. Several dogs running everywhere and quite excitable, even at 2 am,

4. Improvements are being made to the site however it would have been nice to have been informed prior to booking. Small excavators and mini diggers just 200yrds away from tent pitches disrupted the tranquillity and made me paranoid about the kids coming and going to the toilet block.

5. The caravan site is immaculate and obviously very well maintained but the tent pitch experience left me disappointed
