Isle of Gigha Explorer 2 or 3 days This is a paradise close to the city. It's about 2 1/2hrs drive from Glasgow to the Gigha Ferry in Tayinloan. Excellent paddling with beautiful sandy beaches and rugged cliffs.
This 2/3 day trip is aimed at those who would like to kayak for 4-6 hrs per day and also enjoy what else Gigha has to offer. It is expected that everyone will have sea kayaked before, but a high level of competence is not required. We would aim to improve people's per...sonal paddling in an informal setting but primarily to enjoy this beautiful island. It is possible to camp or stay in one of the excellent B&Bs or self-catering cottages, let us know your preference.

Sea Kayak Safety and Survival Week

A fantastic course delivered by top notch coaches. Covers a wide range of topics - an excellent first aid module focussing on things that are actually of relevance to sea kayakers combined with sessions on leadership skills, incident management, planning and safety at sea. The course is structured so that there is good mix of classroom based learning as well as practical sessions out on the water with some pretty fiendish scenarios to sort out. This course is ideal for any sea kayaker who wishes to learn more about safety at sea but would be particularly useful for those thinking of undertaking a sea kayak leader qualification. Probably the best course I have been on (and I have been on a few!)

Just had a fantastic week on the sea survival skills and first aid course with these guys Excellent instruction great value for your pennies and would recommend to anyone who is either a pleasure paddler or going through their awards. Learnt so much and couldn’t have had a better week of training in a relaxed atmosphere. Brilliant instruction from

Duncan Lisa and Phil. Be prepared to work hard, learn and enjoy.

I've had a great time learning how to do hip flicks in one of their Pool Kayak Rolling Sessions. Not mastered it completely yet but learnt so much more than I thought I would. Still got to practice how to get into the kayak whilst in the water ... not mastered that either, but I know with Duncan and Lisa's help I will manage to do these and learn how to roll!! Huge thank you to Duncan for his patience, understanding and expertise. Can't recommend Greene Adventures enough ... really are a fantastic company! 😊 xx

I recently attended the Sea Survival week jointly run by Sea Kayak Argyll and Green Adventures - the course was based at Carry Farm in Argyll; an excellent location with really good facilities, though EE users beware of the limited phone signal.

The purpose of the week was to refresh First Aid training (two days) with the land and water based scenarios (3 days), which combined the practical application of First Aid in realistic situations that we could be presented with at some-point in our travels. The week was well structured and flexible enough to cope with the prevailing weather conditions; this was the week of hurricane Brian (2017)! The longer period of the training meant that you are able to have that essential consolidation that we never seem to get with shorter courses. Additionally, we were all guided to take different roles within each scenario so that we were able to learn from the exposure to the different requirements of the roles as well as coming away with a higher level first aid qualification (REC Level 3).

This is a really great way of spending a week: fantastic learning opportunities, in a great landscape, with enough pushing / guidance of each attendee that we all came away with a greater level of confidence in ourselves and our ability to deal with realistic situations. I came away from the week with a greater level of confidence in incident management as well having met a great bunch of people. I can't recommend this course enough - if only Facebook gave 6 stars!!

User

I had a brilliant few days in Anglesea with Lisa and Duncan. I really grew my confidence and learnt such a lot in a short period of time. Duncan was my coach on both days and I felt supported, safe and also stretched. I look forward to developing my paddling skills with Greene Adventures 😊

User

I attended the Sea survival week based at Carry farm in October run with Sea Kayak Argyll and Bute. It was pretty full on, but really useful. As the course progressed my ability and confidence increased loads. It makes perfect sense to follow a first aid course with incident management so you really get a chance to put your skills into practice in realistic situations. There was the right level of support and guidance so everyone was pushed without feeling unsupported. Thank you all!

User

Great weekend with Duncan and Lisa 3*skills training Tignabruich, both have great leadership skills , understandable language that helps you to makes sense of the theory and allows for learning and great fun . I’ll be back !! Thanks guys Celia x
