Three nights I spent in this lovely hotel. Great room with en suite. The food is really good and at a reasonable price too. Breakfast was great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. If I'm passing again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop for food or an overnight stay.
Stopped off here for some food before a long drive home. Very reasonable price for a good sized three course Sunday lunch. Very friendly landlord.
Lovely pub/hotel. Big rooms, big comfy beds! Great food and staff. Very pleased.
The pub food was good, but the hostel was... interesting.
A converted church, this place provides a unique hostel stay. If it hadn't been for the sleeping man in our room at 7 PM, it probably would have been a more enjoyable time for us.
Regardless, the staff was great and the facilities were ok.
We stayed at the hostel, and it is pretty old, the furniture, the walls, the flooring and the bathroom are all from another age. This is usually not a problem but the smell was here as well. The bedding and sheets were comfortable.
I booked by calling and if you do so ask for confirmation via email because when we got there the booking had never been taken... Thankfully there was room... We got overcharged at the counter for the room, which made up for the price of the towels (apparently)...
The food was excellent and the beer selection is great!
We stayed there during a bank holiday so it might explain why the service was not perfect but this was not a great experience.
Very unwelcoming
Nice enough place, excellent location to see Vindolandia (highly recommended for all and a Must for history buffs) and Hadrian's Wall.
Stopped over for tea
We stayed the night here whilst walking Hadrian's wall. After a gruelling days walking ( although extremely scenic ) we enjoyed a cold beverage upon arrival. The room had en suite and comfortable beds and we had a peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast was very enjoyable and set us up for the day ahead. Friendly,helpful staff. Would stay again.
