Continuing my blog archive of jobs - here is some garden furniture that I brought back from the grave last May. Happy memories of working in the sun listening to county cricket on the radio. Perfect! https://www.greensmithgardeninganddecking .com/…/furniture-b…
Very pleased with my new business cards.
New blog - winter cleaning of paths and garden furniture. https://www.greensmithgardeninganddecking .com/…/clean-paths…
This is what I was up to exactly a year ago. https://www.greensmithgardeninganddecking .com/…/allotment-p…
Hi folks. Big news - I've now got a website via an incredible deal that Wix were offering. I'm very pleased with it. Still tweaking it and will be adding to the blogs over the next few days, but please take a look and let me know what you think. Any constructive advice welcome. Thanks. https://www.greensmithgardeninganddecking .com/
Hi folks. I've been doing an inside job in north London the past couple of days.
Spent Friday in Burgess Hill weeding and clearing moss from a pal's driveway. Used handtools rather than the jet spray. An enjoyable few hours in the sun listening to the cricket. Great lunch too.
On alternate Tuesdays I work on a lovely garden in Rye. Two weeks ago I made friends with a juvenile robin, who hung around watching me at work for quite a while. I was delighted to see him again yesterday and noticed a pronounced reddening of the breast.
Here at Greensmith Gardening & Decking Service we take quality control very seriously. To that effect I would like to assure all potential clients that when it comes to deck repairs all measurements and plans are discussed with, and checked by, Tiggy prior to a rescue plan being put into action. It's this attention to detail and dedication to customer care that we think delivers the very best service for our customers..
A couple of Before & After snaps from a recent decking makeover project for a lovely couple in St Leonards. This is the second deck I have made good for the same customers. This is a nice little sun trap at the bottom of their garden. Please get in touch if you would like a deck rescued. I can also do repairs.
I've had a few weeks off the tools due to an eye operation. However, fully recuperated, I decided to ease myself back in to hard labour with a deck repair project at home. The first pic shows a delightful sunken garden within our decking in 2017. However, the sunken bed collapsed last autumn and revealed rotten timbers underneath. Several of these had to be cut out and replaced with new 145x45 and 95x45 timbers plus several cleats. Old decking boards were trimmed back to good wood and replaced with new. It's a shame to lose the sunken feature, but the new deck should last us many more years.
Been a while since I posted some snaps. Luckily, it's because I have been too busy. Many projects to catch up on photo-wise, but here is some garden furniture I've brought back to life for some lovely people who live near my allotment in St Leonards.
Hi folks. I recently completed my first decking makeover of the year. A fairly large one in St Leonards, though am working on one even larger at the moment. I got my before-and-after angles slightly wrong with these snaps but hope you get the idea. This deck was washed for the first time in several years and finished with two coats of preservative and two of water-based decking oil plus I replaced a few of the more badly rotten timbers. I hope to be busy all next week, but please get in touch if you would like a quote for a start early-to-mid May.
Been growing things for a long time. Here's my first trellis of sweet peas in August 1970.
Didn't take many work-in-progress snaps but spent a couple of days last week putting up a greenhouse for a happy customer in Hastings.
'Tis the season for the Christmas cactus to show its colours.
