Grill'D Or Fried You Decide Description

Let me tell you a story (its abit long ). . . Once upon a time there was four guys: Tim, Jim, Kim and Palwaan. These four were real foodies, always eating out, always trying new and different places to eat; eating was their pleasure, their pass time, their source of enjoyment.
Everything was good and life was bliss until one day whilst at a takeaway deciding what to eat, they hit a wall (metaphorically speaking). They looked at each other silently and confused, staring at the menu. The guy at the counter asked “What can I get you lads?” and for once for the first time ever in their 15 year take-away eating spree there was no response, there was nothing but bland looks and silence. After 15 years of eating out the guys realised they had tried every single thing on every single menu and just did not want any more of it. They were bored. Their bellies were rebelling. Their brains were resisting the thought of the same old food over and over again. Their tongues just wouldn’t utter the words “cheese burger and chips please” anymore! !
It was a difficult time for the boys, they were confused and scared. They had lost the one thing that kept them sane in this insane world, the one factor that united them, the thing that gave their little lives a purpose – FAST FOOD! Tim refused to come out of his room for months. Shrivelled up like a little mouse and wrapped up in a blanket in a corner of his room. All they could hear from outside were the words “NO MORE 99p CHICKEN AND CHIPS, NO MORE 99p CHICKEN AND CHIPS”.
Jim would have nothing but milk shakes in order to fill the empty hole in his stomach. It’s said that he couldn’t face another takeaway and only came out at night when no fast food outlet was ever open, creeping in the shadows of the night and disappearing again at dawn.
Kim. . . Tut tut, his case was the worst of all. Kim lost his mind; the thought of another meat feat pizza drove him over the edge. It was said that he left for a land far far away where the teletubbies came to play. Every so often his family would receive a post card; it would say nothin but bare a picture of Tinky Winky with a very very Kamp smile. It was a disturbing, terrifying sight.
As for Palwaan he was strong, strongest of the 4. After his initial struggle with the whole situation he became addicted to milky bars. He said that the milky bar kid was his only friend now. Yet in his mind Palwaan missed his friends, he missed the times they would go out and enjoy themselves over a buy one get one free chicken fillet meal. Palwaan decided he would do whatever he could to bring back the good times with his friends but never would he take them back to the same old fast food joints ever again.
One day whilst sitting under a tree in the park, eating a milky bar planning how he could reunite his friends, it finally hit him, SMACK on his head! At first he thought it was an idea but it wasn’t, it was a watermelon! It fell and broke on his head, watermelon juice gushing all over his milky bar. Very nauseous, Palwaan began to stare at his chocolate covered with watermelon, his eyes opened wide, sparkling! Inspiring music began to play in his mind. It looked amazing, so different and unique, something he had never seen before. It was a watermelon milky bar! Pink and cream with black seeds. Palwaan was in awe, he brought it closer to his mouth, he could smell the flavours, he couldn’t resist and he took a great big bite and began to chew…AND THEN. . . YUCK! ! ! IT WAS DISGUSTING! Palwaan had no idea where that watermelon came from but what he did have was a dizzy head, a soggy milky bar and INSPIRATION.
The event made him realise food didn’t have to be what it always had been. He realised he could create his own food with different flavours, unique combinations and wonderful fusions, he realised he could make the same old food exciting again.
Palwaan rushed and locked himself in his lab (kitchen). Three months, many explosions, injuries and disasters later, he emerged. What he had with him would change fast food as he knew it. Palwaan had constructed a menu that had never been witnessed by any eye or tasted by any tongue before. He’d created food that was original, bold and exciting.
Palwaan wanted to share his creations with the world so he opened a takeaway at 62 Manningham lane so no one would be deprived. He dedicated it to his old friends and all those people who, like him, were bored of the same old food. He called his takeaway Grill’d or Fried and invited everyone to come and experience his invention. Occasionally you can see Palwaan in the Grill’d or Fried kitchen experimenting with new ideas to add to his exclusive menu.
As for me, my name is Imtishan Iqbali and I’m the guy who dropped the watermelon on Palwaan's head.
