Grow Wild, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew

About Grow Wild, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew

Grow Wild is the national outreach initiative of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew: encouraging millions of people to change lives and transform spaces through native UK wildflowers and fungi. We inspire people to grow as a group, get active, learn about nature and give back through volunteering. All of which can improve health and wellbeing, as well as urban and unloved spaces across the UK. Grow Wild is supported by the Big Lottery Fund using National Lottery funding, and through private and public contributions. Wildflowers are easier to grow than many other plants and they're perfect for spaces where the soil may not be in the best shape. Grow Wild uses wildflowers to introduce people who may never have sown seeds before to the joys of growing, pollinators and the vibrancy of nature. Fungi matters hugely to UK biodiversity and wildlife habitats, but it is misunderstood and often under-appreciated. Grow Wild is raising both understanding and the profile of fungi, as a fundamental part of the natural world we need to cherish and protect. Together, plants and fungi hold the key to solving some of the most critical challenges facing humanity today.
