Guardian Angels Bird Sanctuary Description
We hope to raise awareness about the correct way to care for aviary birds and larger species of parrots. We have 30 years experience in caring for these creatures and have worked for 10 years as unpaid volunteers for another bird charity. With so many birds in our care we decided to go it alone and spread the word in our own area and beyond.

An update on Charlie. He has been in the collar for two weeks so I thought I would take it off see if he goes to bite the foot. He was on my knee and i was tickling his cheeks when I felt a huge lump. He is going to the vet in a couple of hours to see what this is. My hope is it is not a tumour. Fingers crossed everyone we have worked so hard with him i will be gutted if we lose him now
We need a new family for this macaw. She prefers ladies. Please do not ring if you have not had a parrot before. If interested please ring me on 07772138961 where I will go into more detail.
We are looking for a good home if interested please ring me on 07772138961

Charlie is doing much better today, he's on three lots of medication, as you can see he has a surgical collar. It may not look nice but it is stopping him from biting his foot and he chew the buster collar off lol. Thank you to everyone who has given a donation to his medical bills.
Just a quick note about the Cockatoo. Thank you for everyone's offer of giving a home to the poor bird. We won't be rehoming him I'm afraid, because he is going to need expensive veterinary care and we need to get to the bottom of why he has bitten off half of his foot.
We are looking for homes for the amazon and Grey. If interested please ring me. The cockatoo came in this morning after biting half his foot off Saturday night. He was not with the family long he didn't have a proper cage or perches or toys. I will sit up with him all night until we can get him to the vet tomorrow

We've finally agreed on two dates for this years fundraisers. On Sunday 7th April we will be hosting our Easter Fair at Underwood Miners Welfare. There are still 2 stalls available for anyone wishing to join us. It will be first come first served. The big event at our Sanctuary will take place on Sunday 21st July. There's a couple of dates for your diary and there'll be more to follow nearer the time.
We've a couple of thank yous to give out to the kind people of Eastwood and surrounding areas. Just before Christmas we had a kind donation of £193.69 from Brinsley Primary School raised from their Halloween disco and just after Christmas we received £170.00 from Lawrence Veterinary Centre, from their Christmas Hamper Raffle and takings from the Eastwood Christmas Lights Switch On, which they split with 7 different local animal charities. Many thanks and it will be a great help during the Winter Months when fund-raising opportunities are at a premium. Talking of fund-raisers we'll have news of a few within the next few days.
We've been asked to share this page on Facebook. Gandalf was rescued by these kind people but vets bills for him have rocketed. They've not had much luck with local charities. All they wanted was exposure, so we've gladly shared the page.
Merry Christmas to all our 1,752 facebook followers and thank you for your continued support.

What an amazing couple who had no hesitation in taking in a baby starling I found had fallen from its nest in my garden. Would highly recommend them.
We finally made it along to the fundraiser today! It was the first one we've managed to make and we're so glad we did!
It was wonderful to meet so many birds who have been given a second chance, and there was a fantastic array of outstanding cake.
Wonderful place, wonderful people, wonderful birds!
These people have hearts of gold. So lovely to meet them at the Boxer Rescue fun day recently. Loved having a bit of special time with Cherry too, Claire xxx I cant post my pics to your page but the daft expression on my face said it all, I so fell in love with her xx
Thank you for everything you have done for me you are all 1 in a million
Thank you for an interesting and enjoyable morning hope you made plenty of money for your sanctuary Will you be putting your raffle winners on here?
Such kind people who do so much for birds. They recently took in my mum's budgie after she passed. It was such a relief to know that Suki was in good hands and well looked after as he was a much-loved companion. Very few people look after smaller caged birds. Thanks so much. x
Rang them as we had an injured bird. Came out straight away and even said they will keep the name Barney. Highly recommend them
Kind hearted charity , dropped an injured pigeon there on Tuesday night, very warm caring people. They make the world a better place . Please support them no matter how small. I will be going on Sunday to show support. A very special place x
