Went yesterday with mum for lunch. Staff friendly, food piping hot and very good value for money. Even better i had a voucher for 2 meals for £10.00. Bargin. Only critisim i have the pub felt a bit cold even though the heating was on! Maybe it needs turning up on colder days!. Will defo be back though. X

We went a party of 8 the food was very good. So went back again with a party of 7 food again very good, So going for lunch with my husband now, Attentive staff good service good food, No complaints here, worth a visit

We held my wife's 70th birthday party here last week-end. It was a party for forty-five guests. We arrived to prepare to find an area cordoned off for us. The help in preparation of the area, the willingness to go the extra mile all night, an abundance of good quality food for the buffet and a warm, clean, comfortable environment all contributed to a memorable evening.



Would we come back here for a similar event? In a heart-beat!

Visited today and many times before fantastic atmosphere friendly and well mannered staff great selection of mains and yummy desserts looking forward for my chocolate fudge cake and ice cream �

The staff are really friendly and professional Heather has served us a few times now and is really friendly. Even the other guest are friendly. Amazing well done to all concerned. A family pub to feel safe in.

Shaun and Heather gave a wonderful service and helped us with anything we needed and they was very polite. Food was lovely. Me and my mum would definately come again ��

Myself, my hubby and our 10 year old ate here tonight and the service was amazing. We eat at a couple of other local Marstons but the service here was by far the best and food was great!

Me and my husband came for lunch it was our first visit..the staff were nice and friendly..the food came on huge plates and was delicious!the 2 for 1 is great value for money.. We will definitely be coming back and bringing my daughter with us next time..�

Had a lovely meal at guild merchant yesterday evening for my sisters 30th , firstly would like to thank the manager for letting us use the area at the back of the pub which felt like our own room , and for allowing us to decorate it , the staff were very lovely and attentive even though they wer very busy with others using the pub , the staff were very accomadating and very proffesional when we asked to order and pay seperatly whilst ordering ....the starters arrived very promply with no misteaks with our order , the mains arrived also with our approval, the food was lovely . And thankyou to the lovely staff member that lit the birthday cake for us , she was very busy but made the time and effort for our group����� see you all very soon.

Great value, great food and great staff (Sean is the life and soul of this place and goes above and beyond). Clean and a great atmosphere to boot. Lucky to have this as our local. Can highly recommend.

Was at Guild Merchant Sunday we visit a lot but Sunday was a let down my friend order roast Dinner the beef hard to cut roast potatoes and all the vegetables dry up I had ribs chips onion rings ribs were fatty and the plate was full of sauce

Was there Tuesday about tea time only one staff on she was lovely but the food was not up to the standard we alway had when we been

We use to be regaulars but after this service we definitely will not be coming back. The kids food was not on the right size plates and when it was addressed they made excuses that frankly didn't cut it for me and my partner definitely won't be coming back anymore!

Such a waste of a fantastic menu ...



My sister Booked a table in advance for over 20 people for my nephews 3rd birthday celebration . Despite ordering upon arrival tonight 6 members of the party (one of them being the birthday boy himself) were left waiting for their food for an hour and 45 minutes after everyone else had finished ! 4 adults and 2 Children sat there starving at 9.30 at night having to resort to ordering a takeaway to be delivered after several trips to the bar to check the progress of their meals , and watching other customers who ordered a lot later be served before them . we don’t like complaining and would have been giving 5* reviews even if there was a small wait but there’s just no excuse for ruining what should have been a joyous occasion



This review in no way reflects upon the waiting staff as they were rushed off their feet , they didn’t stop running around for all the customers and profusely apologised while staying calm and professional , we couldn’t help but feel sorry for them too . Poor management really let the establishment down tonight . More staff and organisation is urgently needed . Again such a shame as the food that was served and eaten surpassed our expectations .
