It's 24 degrees this Saturday and 22 degrees this Sunday according to The Weather Channel. Perfect temperature for a drink in our garden!
Every Tuesday night at 8.30pm (sharp!) The Guildford Arms plays host to Quiz Night. Come and gasp in awe as your Quiz Master reduces grown men to tears for their pedantry, while life-long friends fall out over the question du jour ‘What’s the yellow Telly Tubby called?’, all for a beer glass full of shiny coins (£1 per person, no teams larger than six please).
We had the tasting menu and really enjoyed it, the poached plum pudding with asorted other yummyness was wonderful.
Lovely place, Lovely people! So much coming back!
Lovely bank holiday family get together spent in the garden. 14 of us fed and watered quickly. Lovely food
It's changed since we last visited 2 years ago. I think the restaurant is closed and everyone eats in the pub. Great atmosphere and looked after by the staff. Food fantastic not typical pub grub more like posh nosh in a pub will defo be returning. Thanks chef!
Had a tasting menu last night, the food and service was awesome!!!
Good food relaxed atmospere and very friendly staff x x
Fantastic food....had the Sunday roast, pork belly and all the trimmings. Staff there are very friendly and great service.
We were received well as we stumbled in out of the rain and the waiting staff were attentive and had a good sense of humour. We had a great bottle of wine and some nibbles to start. The bread was burnt, but still tasty and a generous portion. We were still eating when the main course arrived which was a bit awkward- but fine. Boyf really enjoyed his steak, I enjoyed the fish and chips, but didn't eat the batter. This was a personal choice, I just didn't want to fill up on it!! The mushy peas was soooo good though! The waitress offered to get me more which she did (no extra charge). We were asked several times about pudding, which became a bit a banter with the staff. We had an espresso martini and a coffee to finish. A great meal, staff were fun and a really nice atmosphere. The loos could do with a refit though.....
All the different choices on our table looked very good. I had the hake which was delicious. The roast pork had cracklin' which you don't get everywhere. We were in a big party so the time between courses was a bit long but overall would go again.
The food was very average and very pricey for the quality. Upon arrival we were told to order quickly as 'the chef had a lot of orders.' My pork roast was £14.95 (or around that price!) and extremely fatty.... I couldn't eat the crackling as it was not how you expect and didn't taste of anything. Gravy was thin and watery and potatoes dry. Upon paying (we were in a group) the bar staff were fairly abrupt and didn't appreciate our custom and seemed more worried how they were going to get their 10% service as we were paying individually. They voiced their concerns about this when we were standing in front of them. We won't be going back unfortunately.
