Guildford Choral Society is a Registered Charity, no 280533. The choir has over 150 members, a singing strength at most concerts of around 130 and employs professional musicians of outstanding talent and commitment. Considerable time is devoted to developing singing skills, both at rehearsals and through occasional choral days and choral weekends open to all with professional tutors, and we also hold regular social and fundraising events.

Most concerts are held in Guildford, but we promote a London concert on average every two years. These events give us an opportunity to invite other choirs to participate, and to involve a major charity (Chase Children's Hospice Service, Alzheimer's Research Trust, Royal British Legion, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice). We have collaborated with many leading orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic, the Philharmonia, The Hanover Band, the London Mozart Players and the BBC Concert Orchestra. We continue to develop links with orchestras and other choirs.

Our soloists regularly include international opera and oratorio stars. The choir's recordings are frequently broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, and, in recent years, several of the choir's concerts have been recorded live by the BBC for subsequent broadcast on Radio 3, a rare honour for an amateur choir.
