Some of the best Nepalese/Indian food I've had in a long time. Family of 8 meal while on holiday. I don't think anyone in our group had a negative comment about any of the food that was served.

Indian dishes cooked to perfection, piping hot and not a microwave in sight.

4 of us popped back tonight for a second helping of this wonderfully cooked Nepalese/Indian cuisine. Again we were not disappointed the food really is that good. The staff were just as attentive as the first time we went and it's a shame that we are off back to the Midlands this Friday (end of holiday) Honestly if this was closer to my home I would be eating there every other week.

It was fabulous, best food I've had in a while, the noodle Soup was fantastic and the Gurkal Butter Chicken was stunning. Also there was awesome service and the owners were very friendly. Loved it, I'll definitely go again.

If you have never tried a Gurkha restaurant before, it's Indian with attitude! Wonderful flavours, good reputation, welcoming staff, definitely worth a visit.

If you are looking for an incredible meal, excellent service with such nice staff, then visit the Gurkha. It was our first visit and it won't be the last. Fantastic , Thank you so much for such a memorable evening.

Had dinner heretc tonight. Was the best curry we have had in he UK so far. Service was great and food so delicious. Will eat here again.

Everything is sooo good we ordered again tonight! And the service is excellent, the staff including the chef are outstanding!

Been here for a meal tonight. First time there and it I'm working in Barnstaple again I will be going back for a meal again. Quick friendly service. Well done to all the staff at Gurkha's. 5*

Amazingly good. They have a fantastic dish which is on the takeaway menu but sadly not on the restaurant menu. I recommend that you grab a takeaway menu as you walk on and order the dish that sounds like a Chinese sweet n sour but with Indian spicing. A truly unique and delicious dosh.

Ate here last night well I say ate table booked for 7.30 pm finally after I found I waiter we placed our drinks order and our food, we got our drinks and popadoms pickles etc, by 915 pm we had eaten our popadoms and our starters with no sign of our mains we went in search of either our food or the bill as by now we were fed up and not fed.... finally we got our mains and they weren't good mine was well luke warm so I picked at it. When we asked for the bill the waiter offered us a round of drinks to say sorry but to little for me I just wanted out, it wasn't even his fault to many tables booked in for the kitchen to cope with. The table beside us didn't even wait for their mains they left... as we left we said good luck to the remaing tables waiting for food, so to sum up I shall not be returning just short of £110 to be left hungry and disappointed

The only 1 place I could find that was willing to deliver after half 10 (on a Saturday night) and I was told i am to far, in bishops tawton which is half a mile away, and comes under barnstaple. Takes about 6 minutes to get here from the centre if town. Not sure what planet these people are on but what an utter joke!! Don't offer delivery to your local town if your to bloody lazy to go 5minutes from your doorstep!
