Dawlish is located at the outlet of a small river, Dawlish Water (also called The Brook), between Permian red sandstone cliffs, and is fronted by a sandy beach with the South Devon Railway sea wall and the Riviera Line railway above. Behind this is a central public park, The Lawn, through which Dawlish Water flows.
Immediately to the south-west of Dawlish is a headland, Lea Mount, with Boat Cove at its foot and Coryton Cove, the furthest part of the beach accessible by the se...awall path, behind it. To the north-east, via the beach or seawall, the coast can be followed some 2 km to Langstone Rock and the resort of Dawlish Warren beyond, although this path is blocked at extreme high water.
Dawlish is also known for its black swans (Cygnus atratus), introduced from Western Australia, which live with other exotic waterfowl in a small urban sanctuary on Dawlish Water.

We went for a meal & the food was exquisite & delicious. Love that it's local & we'll definitely be making it a regular event. Friendly, attentive staff, lovely ambience & the whole evening was wonderful.

Lovely family meal at the Gurkha restaurant tonight for my daughter’s birthday. The food was great and service very attentive. My daughter was made to feel very special, made her birthday.

Had take away delivery tonight. Was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be using again. Highly recommended

Had a takeaway recently. Really generous portions, but more importantly, totally delicious! Money well spent. Only sorry we were just on holiday and live hundreds of miles away...

Had a fab meal last night for our wedding anniversary. We will visit again when we are back in dawlish

Fantastic meal and perfect setting. Brilliant staff, with excellent food. Only improvement would be to have sizzler option. That said, food was very good.

Fabulous food fresh tasting not greasy bang on time definitely going back would highly recommend it the best Indian I've ever eaten x x x x
