Boat of the week coming up!
This week we're featuring 'THOR', a small traditional boat believed to be built around the 1930s.
THOR was made out of mahogany but repaired in sapele as this was the closest grain, and then blended before varnishing with International Schooner Gold. The Bottom is International Oxford Blue.
... The engine is a British Seagull 102 model from approximately 1940s and was refurbished by previous owners. More information available on the website.

Constance at Falmouth Classics!

This Laurent Giles yacht in the Brokerage has just been reduced to £5,000.
Designed by Laurent Giles and built at Mashfords (to design No 419 drawings 1930), this yacht is slightly larger than the Vertue and similar to the Wanderer III.
Planked in larch on sawn oak frames. Bermudan Sloop Rig, alloy spars.

The Cornish Pilot Gig being built here at the boatyard was officially measured by the Cornish Pilot Gig Association today and has passed, so work on planking can begin next week!

Ratsey & Lapthorn Classic Sailmakers, Cowes have arrived at Gweek Classic Boatyard! Samples of sails, their work and lovely bags to buy in the chandlery.

We've had some great reviews on Tripadvisor after our trips out aboard Constance over the Falmouth Classics weekend.
'Had a fabulous time watching the Falmouth Classic boats racing in the bay. The crew looked after us wonderfully. We were served delicious cake and tea. They had lots of blankets to keep us warm incase it got a little chilly on board. The skipper and crew had a brilliant sense of humour and were the perfect hosts. I would definitely recommend you take a trip on Constance.'

Another busy day at Falmouth Classics with the Ratsey & Lapthorn Classic Sailmakers, Cowes team. The sun has come out and the shanties are in full swing!
