While a similar routine package is not available on the NHS, the overwhelming response to my question from women is that there is a felt need for an annual check-ups. To make it affordable and available, payment plans can be agreed, if necessary. Call us on 01619562770 and ask for a call-back if you need to set up a payment plan

Just in the last two weeks I have had three women come to my clinic for a smear, referred by their GP. For those of you not in the UK, pap smears are usually done by the primary care physician or the nurse in the practice and only in exceptional circumstances will you get sent into hospital to see a specialist for a smear. One was a young twenty-five-year-old, not sexually active and the question and debate about whether she needed a smear followed. After a full discussion, i...t was the woman’s choice respected. Easy. The other was a post-menopausal lady, and the process of having the smear was unusually painful for her, hence the referral. Once again, easily solved. Sample satisfactory as reported. The third was a lady in her mid-thirties, anxious that she was referred because she could have cancer. When in fact, the Doctor had seen a simple cervical polyp and wanted me to remove it and do the smear. She had Googled polyp and reasons for referral to hospital and quite naturally, was very nearly tearful when she saw me. I thought I need to write this blog for the sake of others like her. https://www.mygynaec.co.uk/blog
