We bought a beautiful engagement ring 22 months ago for £1,500.00 - about three weeks ago a piece of gold fell off the ring. In all good faith and with confidence that no accidental damage had taken place, we returned the ring to the West Quay store. We took the original receipt with us but on talking to the assistant manager we were advised that Samuels products are only guaranteed for one year with regard to faults. My ring was duly sent off for appraisal and after two and a half weeks I rang to chase the company as I hadn't heard anything. A junior member of staff took the call who then had to talk to a manager - I was then told that I had caused the damage and so the company would charge me £88.00 to rectify it.
As a piece of jewellery from such a shoddy jewellers we have decided to have the ring broken and properly remade. On our experience would not advise anyone to purchase jewellery of any great value from Samuels.
