Tonight! Free live jazz from Brian Iddenden (The Living Legend) and his Quartet! From 8pm-midnight Brian Iddenden has been part of the British jazz scene for 20 years, with his chosen instrument (saxophone) often at the center of layered compositions. Flouncy waltz-time disappearing into explosive bebop flurries. For More Info https://hackneyempire.co.uk/your-visit/fo od-drink/

We took our 4 year old daughter to see her first panto yesterday and what a glorious treat it turned out to be. It was a last minute decision because of the weather but so glad we did. An amazing cast, very interactive with the audience and the sets were stunning. First time at the Hackney Empire and l can see what people adore the place...it really is a beautiful theatre. Although my daughter didn't wholly understand the story, she was entranced by the singing, dancing, colourful costumes and sets and peering down from the dress circle. Can't wait to go to our next show here! 😊

User

The Empire hosted the Americana Awards for the first time: Whispering Bob hosted a music-packed night with music from Emily Barker, the Wandering Hearts, Robert Plant, Mumford & Sons, and many others. Hope it's repeated next year!

User

Saw the matinee showing of Hamlet yesterday Sat 24/3/18 - the whole experience was fabulous ... the performance, the staff both in the theatre and bar ... we couldn't fault anything. Loved everything and we will be back!

User

Really enjoyed MAMZER | BASTARD last Sunday. An unusual opera clearly presented in an effective production.

User

On Saturday we went for a family outing to see Cinderella at the Hackney Empire (me, my husband and our two-year-old and six-year-old daughters). I had only ever been to the Hackney Empire once and nobody else in my family had been before. Consequently, we were not sure what to expect really. Thinking pantomimes are for children, I was surprised but pleased to see how much of the humour in the pantomime appealed to adults. The cast were fantastic, the sets were great and there was a lovely atmosphere within the audience. We definitely plan to go to the pantomime again next year!

User

Love this beautiful little gem. Seen Cindarella last night and it was fantastic. Wonderful start to Christmas.

Will we come back ........ oh yes we will Xxxx

Happy birthday Hackney Empire xxxx

User

I went to see cinderella today with my daughter, my friend and her daughter. The show was fantastic! So professional and such great fun! We all had a great time. Will definitely go for panto again there next year.

User

I couldn't go last year so it was great to be back at the Hackney Empire on Friday (06-01-17) and it was great. It had everything I love - monster, messy kitchen scene, chases, great dame, wonderful singing especially Sharon, classic fluorescent scene. Great end to the Christmas and New Year season.

User

Excellent staff and excellent performance ..... a lot of rubbish left at the end of the show by the pubblic: why?!

User

Been to Hackney Empire for a number of events and love this theatre 🎭 so much! The staff are always friendly and not seen a bad show/panto! Has made my day that I managed to see Sharon D Clarke after the panto yesterday and she took time to have pics with the kids, such a lovely lady and I'm so star struck!! Thank u all xx 😘

User

Attended the venue for the BSA's last Saturday. Staff were all very helpful, the venue was clean & refreshments available to purchase.

User

"King" celebrates the life of Martin Luther King. Martin Smith's triumph.

User

We had a great time at Panto this year, and to be honest, every year for the past 4 at the Hackney Empire. The on stage effects, contrived jokes at child and adult level. We all had a great time attending Cinderella.

User

Lovey theatre, but thought Cinderella was the worst Panto my family and I had ever seen. In fact couldn't make it to the end of the first half. Shame. Wont stop me from trying other shows at the Empire though.

User

While the shows are great the staff are shocking! I just left the empire having had an argument with the bar staff... I simply said it was my turn next in line to which the staff member caused a scene & started rudely shouting they are doing a job & don't know who's next & we should line up so I said that is what we ARE doing lining up & not being served as they go to people in any order to which she decided to respond in ignoring me while she purposely served people around me till she was ready even though I was next... Now I wouldn't mind but this is at a KIDS show where I was with my children with autism who we were at the showing purposely to try to help with cope better with being in public places etc... who were left crying & upset wanting to go home after they witnessed it. They clearly don't take in to consideration the face that it's a kids show some of which may have additional needs before opening there mouth... poor customer service & I suggest they start retraining.

User

I have sent you a very detailed email about one of your members of staff that refused my pregnant wife access to water at a recent event, and I have received no response. I will not recommend your venue to friends and colleagues, and would appreciate a response to my complaint immediately.

User

Staff are so rude and unfriendly like they wanna fight or start trouble watching my daughter's show at moment entered at 5 told not aloud outside even interval stuck in here for 5 hours no food starving if we try to leave were not allowed back in a massive disgrace no food for sale inside worst experience in any London theatre I have ever experienced u can't complain or staff will start on you although u are paying to be there feels like a prison never coming again fuck you Hackney empire Hammersmith Apollo is cool hope you get shut down u and your shit bullying staff

User

Sent to see Big Brother House 3rd February. Not impressed!bad writing story made no sense to me. Sound was not and miss, and the set was awful. Myself and Partner left at the interval. Not recommended to say the least!!!!

User

Refused to let a lady with terminal cancer in her hips and legs sit in the disabled area because she didn’t have a stick or wheelchair, disgusting
