About Haematology Cancer Care, Uclh Charity

HCC is a community bringing together patients, families, supporters and staff to raise funds for the Haematology Unit at UCLH. HCC has been supporting UCLH for 25 years.

Haematology Cancer Care, Uclh Charity Description

Haematology Cancer Care is a community for patients, families, staff and supporters raising funds to help our haematology unit delivery exemplary treatment and care at UCLH.

Working alongside the Unit for over 20 years means we are there to make a difference where the need is greatest. Our funds provide key state of the art medical equipment, contribute to research projects, helping ground-breaking treatment at UCLH reach a greater number of patients, and support staff education and the patient experience within the haematology unit.

This year once again we are the main funder for continuing professional development for haematology nurses helping (haematology at) UCLH to offer the safest and most effective care for our patients and keep the best nurses! We also entirely fund free complementary therapy for patients and families within haematology bringing enormous positive benefits to many patients.
As a community, we run fun, inclusive events throughout the year and are a platform for individual fundraising and donations. Please join us!

Gorgeous photographs from Will and Jenny's recent wedding! Thanks so much to this couple who thoughtfully and generously gave their guests the opportunity to support young adult patients at UCLH on their wedding list. It is much appreciated! We wish you both many happy, healthy years together. #LoveHCC

Super Ward Sister Kerry White was running her first ever half marathon at the Royal Parks Half and hadn't run that distance before Sunday, even in training, so it was fantastic to see her pass by the cheer point with bags of energy and a big smile! Thank you very much Kerry, you are amazing!

Our congratulations to Kate and Ian, who married this summer. Read why they decided to ask friends and family to support HCC: 'Kate is treated for her PV (Polycythemia Vera) at UCH, the home of Haematology Cancer Care. The hospital, doctors, nurses and consultants have all been FANTASTIC at supporting us and will continue to do so as we go forward with our lives. Given this is such a personal cause, it is no surprise we chose to raise money for this great cause, as we start t...he next phase of our lives together.'
Thank you so much one and all and wishing Kate and Ian health and happiness together for many years to come!

Would never have got through it all without both the pre- and post-transplant care and support. An amazing bunch of people, to whom I will be eternally grateful. From the staff on the top floor of the 'tower', to every department on the 2nd and 4th floor of the MacMillan Centre, all played their part in getting me through each chemo treatment; and afterwards when my haemaglobin counts didn't respond after the stem-cell transplant. It's not just a physical battle, but a mental one too - and here, also, they were brilliant, when I struggled at times. A few people stand out in my recollections more than others, but it would be wrong to name individuals as they all look at it as a team effort.

Wonderful charity! Worthwhile cause. Can't wait to start volunteering

User

Wonderful care and support provided here. We are eternally grateful to the team.

User

We were at UCLH from March 15 until my husband died in 2017 we spent more time there than at home and I just loved the staff - i wouldn’t my husband to be treated anywhere else !!

User

They are the most amazing caring professionals with time for all of us patients cannot thank them enough

User

Such a wonderful charity with genuinely warm, caring and compassionate people. The help and recognition given to fundraisers means so much and encourages us to do even more to help. Thank you. Xxx

User

Our family will always be eternally grateful to all the amazing staff at Haematology Cancer Care who looked after Charlie. We can never thank you all enough xxxx

User

My family and I couldn't wish for more, such lovely bunch of nurse's, chemo team and BMT team, such caring people and go out of their way and beyond to help you in any way, it's the best place and the UCLH is the best hospital that my late husband John Lawless was in, from cleanliness, caring, compassionate, respectful and out of this world, I just wish more other hospital's can take a few lessons from this one xxxx

User

Luckily I was not treated there but my niece and a good friend were! Could not wish for better love and attention at a difficult time.

User

I can not fault the UCLH amazing staff... nothing is to much trouble...

thank you so so much for all you did for our family.....
