We have just had a lovely weekend stay at here. We were very impressed with the caravan as we were given a free upgrade to a deluxe model. It was very clean and modern. It was only 5 mins walk from all the main facilities. The on site mini market was reasonably priced which was surprising. Also the Mash and Barrell and the Chinese restaurant. My daughter and I had a Spa session which was amazing. My 6 year old son enjoyed joining in with the kids entertainment. Lots of free things to enjoys but the chargeable activities were quite expensive, eg. £5 for 5 mins on the trampoline but I guess it's to be expected at sites like this. We are already planning our next visit!

Just got back from weekend with two adults four kids was a lovely time and staff went out of there way to help us when didn't have to had upgraded us on arrival as theyd noticed there was a newborn and my daughter is autistic so put us in a quieter area in bigger caravan, the riding stables were so patient when daughter was scared but coaxed her and she enjoyed the pony ride. Loads to do on site and was lovely seeing all the wildlife around Park

Glad I hadn’t read reviews before we went! We had a beautiful, clean and heated caravan in badgers lake for 5 adults and 2 kids, a bit of a walk from complex but grandchildren loved the freedom that gave them. Used many of the kids club activities which they pretty much got to themselves as no-one else was using them. Staff were all brilliant and we all loved the evening entertainment every night. We did most of our own cooking in caravan as there wasn’t really much in the restaurant for youngest who has a gluten intolerance but the staff did do their best to accommodate. Used the spa and would highly recommend the massages. A trip to the birds of prey and reptiles seemed expensive but was worth every penny and the horses was the icing on the cake for our boys. We will be back

Arrived Mon no queues at arrival and information room. Lovely friendly staff. The caravan was located overlooking a beautiful lake, beautiful location. The caravan was spacious and very clean. The pools are lovely and looked quite new. The bar Mash and Barrel looked quite new also, and is well designed. We had no problems getting served quickly. It is quite expensive for the food and drinks but then most holiday camps are. We were very lucky with the weather sunny and warm the whole time we were there. Great location next to Holy Island, Berwick on tweed and Bamburgh castle and Seahouses. We would definitely recommend Haggerstone and will definitely come back.

After reading reviews before arriving at Haggerston Castle I was unsure of how much the park would suit my family of 2 adults 3 children, on arrival Secuirty and reception staff were more than welcoming, our van was spotless and exceeded out expectations we were at badger lakes and it was stunning! Entertainment was great on a night, a large variety of machines at amusements kept the kids happy and the swimming pools were brilliant! We find it hard to eat out at any of the holiday parks we visit restaurants, as my wife has a gluten allergy but the Haggerstons mash and barrel restaurant done their absoulte best to accomadate this (she choose the hickory chicken for anyone who's wondering) thanks guys she was very impressed The park itself was beautiful and very well kept, always clean and full of friendly faces and also very secure. There is so much the kids wanted todo but we couldn't do everything in just 3 nights unfortunately so we are very much looking forward to coming back next year, thankyou to all the staff at Haggerston Castle 25/06/18

We were only there for a overnight stay so can only comment on what amenities we saw and used. I thought the site was lovely but ten pounds is a bit steep for the day pass considering we only used the pool for a hour and didnt get to enjoy the entertainment as my three year old couldn't stay awake. The train ride was nice but should be included in the pass.

The site is lovely, clean and well maintained plenty for children to do but the club house you need deep pockets. Some brilliant places to visit away from the site such as Holy Island and Alnwick Castle. The only downside is the cost off the passes priced @ £32 per adult is an absolute rip-off and the site shop is very expensive otherwise a great place to visit.

The park is very clean and maintained outside areas. Our caravan was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Have read some of the comments and can hardly believe some of the negative feedback. However we didn’t have any children with us. I always say if you are going to any caravan or self catering accommodation you need to take a fan heater just in case heating goes off. We have enjoyed our stay and was good value. Love the lake and water birds

Our last night tonight, we so far have had a lovely holiday! The site is clean and well kept and quiet! Something we value very much!

The mobile home was clean and well equipped and spacious can not fault it!

As for the haven part of it, the complex we went up once and thought we wouldn’t bother again. Very over priced and wasn’t impressed with the selection of eateries.

We would recommend staying here for a holiday to explore the local area but cook in mobile home or eat of site

Just back from mon-fri break. Great time had by all. Caravan was good if a little cold at night and in morning, but unlike all the moaners we adapted to it and didn't let it ruin our time. Kids loved their activities with Ranger Kirstie. Facilities were ideal, staff were all helpful, bar and food prices were reasonable too. Entertainment although no-frills is decent if u allow it to be. Great wee holiday, I've knocked off a star to allow for poor porridge in restaurant, 'hot tub' being cold and the added cost of a lot of the activities. Would recommend though.

Haven’t been to this park for years but took our tourer for a weekend. Big park. The touring pitch we felt wasn’t long enough even though we put the van size in. Our ten year old had a great time and dinner in the mash and barrel was good - pricey though for drink. Entertainment was good but the lounge is very very hot! A bit ott with the passes and activities booked very quickly. Enjoyed it and will be returning.

Caravan was beautiful and our 2 year old son had an amazing time love the fact the baby pool is heated. Only complaint would be that the over priced food is disgusting from most of the eateries. Would NOT recommend the restaurant in the main complex or the papa Johns pizza place!

Came here 6 years ago we've been to lots of haven sites although this is quite a long drive from Manchester we thought we'd come back as we really liked it and some nice places to visit off the site too.

We don't have kids and know these sites are more orientated to kids but still think more should be done to provide for adults. Like after 9pm in the mash and barrel no kids under 14 and some live music.

We arrived Friday early evening following almost 5 hour drive, our van was nicely located but smelt as though it's not been used for months. After unpacking we decided to have a deserved drink and a meal. We switched the heating on to warm the van for our return.

After our meal and only 2 drinks because the queues were horrendous at the bar we decided to go back. It was freezing. We had no heat or hot water couldn't even have a shower.

Following morning after a few phone calls someone came out. The gas was empty. Apparently it's not checked before guests arrive. How? Why? I'm sure a simple check will avoid upsetting holiday makers.

We had a lovely day out and decided to relax in our nice warm van. Then unfortunately we received a call at 8.30pm from home that my husband's mum had taken ill in hospital. We had to pack up and leave to do the 4 hour drive back.

Not sure when/if we'll return again but will stand by that this is a lovely site.

Touring pitch 7, hard standing and awning. It was ok, joe the security guy was lovely. Easy check in. Pitches are not really clearly marked. First night was peaceful but second night had to call security because of one selfish moron playing music at 2am! Went to check out mash & barrel. Had large brekkie and avocado on toast with soft boiled egg. Everything deep fried even the mushrooms, could taste dirty oil on everything. Sent my poached eggs back as rock solid and toast was soggy. Really awful! Facilities seem great for young families, but bring deep purses. Lots of amusements and entertainment room looked canny but no schedule displayed to see what is on. Off to check out the spa and couples treatment later on so hope that’s ok as it’s for hubby’s birthday. Canny little shop on site too with plenty of choice.

The park is very nice but the passes are a joke £110 plus for a family & you cant get into the pool unless you book hours in advance & I mean hours!! unless you've got under 5s everything else has to be paid for, as passes are needed to get into the showbar & bar to buy drinks even worse you have to que for 20 to 30mins to get served yes passes are great value NOT!!

Just back from a 5 day stay. Caravan was gorgeous, gas ran right out after we put it on when we arrived (the place was FREEZING) but the guy didn’t take long to drop off a new one at all. Super helpful with the baby items as our pram unfortunately did not fit in the car with all our stuff. The guy at the mash barrel didn’t have a clue what we were saying, the woman behind the bar was rude, she must have been ‘manager’.. didn’t have our receipt, or other peoples receipts ready and didn’t bother going to get it till after hour meal. Food took over an hour so imagine the kids, going crazy, and starving at 7 at night.. they weren’t busy so can’t imagine what it’s like at peak times. Swimming pool was fun. Absolutely freezing one day, something had went wrong and not an explanation or a warning to say it’s not suitable for a baby. Lifeguards Just blow the whistle for fun. Amusements were perfect, the shows at night were a blast. The singer and magician was crazy good.

The staff were more than welcoming and very friendly the complex and the static caravans looked amazing . But that is where the niceties end we were on the touring pitches which resembled a rockery, un comfortable under foot .the toilets were clean but in desperate need of decorating and the cobwebs need taking down . It was very disappointing as the complex was was fantastic. We were supposed to be stopping for a week but we left after only 2 days .to me the touring section needs a total overall and renovation.

I arrived at the park today at 14-30 pm for a 15-00pm check in caravan was not ready so we were given the passes so we could enter the entertainment part of the park whilst waiting, the lady on reception took my phone number and said she would inform me when the caravan was available, we had something to eat and went back to reception at 15.10pm caravan still wasn't ready so she informed my husband that it would be another 15 mins, we waited and I went back into reception at 15.30pm and was informed it was now ready we made our way to the caravan to find the cleaner lying sleeping on the seatee we asked where is caravan 111 he said down that way we went down and then he shouted us back its this one, once again we went back to reception to explain what had happened and explained we wanted a caravan with decking on it so my grandson who is autistic is safe they said we hadn't rented/ paid enough for one with decking £1000 I think is more than enough to pay to keep my grandson safe, they have now sent us to another part of the park still no decking and inches from a large pond which my grandson won't come away from and we are well away from the main attractions , we have asked that if on Monday when family's leave will it be possible to move but they cannot guarantee this the only advice I have been given is to take our money back and leave how do you explain to two kids 5yrs and 7yrs we are going home, phoned customer services got the same answer, after using this park for 30 years and we were considering buying a caravan this week , I can promise my grandkids we won't be back. I am sitting here at the caravan a nervous wreck Haggerston you have disappointed so much you now do not bother about people it's all financial I know it's a business but the customer must be at the forefront. Since visiting the park for 30 years and financially able to buy a caravan this year my dream will not be fulfilled this year as I will not be back I'm here for a week if I didn't have my grandchildren I would be away home.
