Haggs Bank Bunkhouse And Campsite

Haggs Bank bunkhouse has to be one of best places I've ever stayed while cycling. Danny, the guy who runs the place makes you feel very welcome, and he is very friendly.
All facilities are in good repair, clean and modern. The bunkhouse is warm, and the beds are really comfortable. I didn't camp, but I spoke to a couple of cyclists who were, and they were happy.
So all in all, Haggs is either a great base from which to explore some of the most challenging roads in Britain, or a welcome oasis at the end of a tough day, after riding through some of the most stunning scenery our beautiful country has to offer.

Had a lovely weekend recently with Hammocks in the woods at Haggs Bank with my pal Michael. Superb setting and we had plenty of space to ourselves for his excellent bbq cooking all weekend. Even tho we had heavy rain overnight it did not damp our spirits.

The copse we set up in was lovely to swing your hammock and the Bunkhouse across the road is top notch; super clean, warm, plenty of toilets and showers with loads of hot water and washing machines if you needed.

Danny the guy in charge is friendly and helpful and they obviously take a great deal of pride and care looking after the place. What else can I say except that I will be back as soon as I can.

A lovely campsite with great facilities and beautiful views. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The only downside is being so close to the road, that said, we would definitely stay again.

Excellent camping, helpful hosts, would recommend, particularly for any passing bikes.

A large group of us stopped here in May 2017 and were able to camp in a nice spot with trees. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, and the showers/toilets were excellent here. There was food provided by the hosts and this was good too. I would stay again - the roads around here are absolutely spectacular too! There's also a bunkhouse (dorm style) accommodation, which I am told is quite good also.

Friendly hosts, nice flat area to pitch your tent, great biking roads all around, spotlessly tclean facilities.

Fabulously located in a beautifully unspoilt area. Friendly, helpful owners. Spotlessly clean. A great base to explore three fairly undiscovered counties of Cumbria, Northumberland and County Durham. Ideal motor home country.
