Some good news for our golfers and the golf course.
Work has started this week on the course’s irrigation system. This is to fully repair any issues with have had this summer with the system.
The investment will support our ground staff in keeping the course in fantastic condition year round, especially during prolonged spells of hot, dry weather.

Went to @haighwoodlandpark today with my two youngest for a half term MTB ride. We took the dog and visited the cobbled courtyard to cool off with an ice-cream.

My Sons Will & Reuben stood outside waiting for me to come back with the ice creams and, upon walking back to them, I noticed that Reuben was trying to hold Will up.

It was too late for me to get to him before Will had fainted.

Unfortunately he fell back like a tree and banged his head really hard on the cobbles. Even worse luck he landed on a stone which caused a puncture wound to the back of his head.

Luckily for me there was a chap there by the name of Tony who is an off-duty medical technician and a lady who is a nurse at Wigan Infirmary, they, with the help of the staff of Haigh Woodland worked together to help me bring Will around whilst organising an Ambulance which arrived within twenty minutes.

Adam Winrow, one of the staff at Haigh looked after my youngest Son Reuben, he locked up the bikes and even brought Charlie my dog back to the plantation gates to be collected by my fiancé whilst Reuben and I went by Ambulance back to the infirmary.

I want to thank all the staff at Haigh including their young first-aider and in particular Adam, Tony (whose number I took but I think he’s perhaps too modest to reply to my text request for his surname) and the off-duty nurse from the infirmary whose name I didn’t get. Will had a CT scan as the puncture wound was particularly deep and thankfully there was no skull fracture. He’s now glued and home and equally thankful to all who helped out.

We have a fabulous community and a fabulous health service I’m proud to be a part of this town and eternally thankful to everyone involved.

My youngest and i came for the drive in movie last night.x it was amazing ! The atmosphere was great.but more than that all the helpers on the car park were lovely . I struggled initially with tuning my radio and 2 guys offered help..i actually managed it but even thou they had plenty to do they both took time.out..it would have been awful if we couldnt hear it..x we had the best position right at the front .and we both loved it .looking forward to more visits to Haigh Hall in 2018!

User

My grandchildren and I love this park. So much for them to do here, arts and crafts, great play area, adventure golf and of course unicorn ice Cream! Tonight's drive in movie, Elf, was fantastic, they both loved it. Well done to the Haigh team for a great site and brilliant events programme.

User

Just left the drive in movie and have to say that was brill....

Parking really well organised, lots of stalls and entertainment, clean toilets with no queues and we've just got out at the end with no fuss whatsoever.

We expected it to take an hour or more to get out but the organisation was fantastic - relaxed but we'll managed

User

It’s a lovely park with lots to do. I wish the crazy golf was advertised more as it’s really good, especially for younger children but I expect people will see adventure golf and assume the crazy golf has been replaced.

User

Haigh Explorer for us today, loved seeing the parts of the plantations I wouldn’t have found on my own. Thanks for our guide today Keith for all the info. I’m quite a regular around Haigh but loved the informed 6 miles we completed.

We finished off with coffee and cake well worth a visit.

User

Fantastic Place to go with Little ones the Train ride is only £1 each and great ride around the park!

Beautiful views & Giant Play Area, Little FunFair, also can play Mini Golf!

Cafe, Toilets such a lovely day out can highly recommend

User

Brought my Year 2 class for their end of year trip. Did Bushcraft activities and the low ropes. Staff were amazing. Extremely well organised. Would highly recommend for a school trip thank you x

User

We went there yesterday it was big changes from last time we went there about 7 years ago!! More activities for kids. My 2 teenagers interested to go on high ropes and try to book but the man at the till say the next booking is 5.30pm which is long waiting for my teenagers age 14 and 16. We arrived there at 1.30pm so we didn't book it. Gutted. Next time we will go there early to book it. No dog bowl anywhere for my dog who is very thirsty that day as the weather good and warm.

User

We visited today. The place was brilliant. Had a lovely day out an the kids loved it. Wasps were awful though, the place is swarmed with them. Couldn't sit in the court yard for lunch or even have an ice cream. Seen a few people being stung!

User

Was really good to see someone collecting litter and keeping the area clean. So nice to share doggy time with other dog walkers, felt like we were part of a community. Only downside was I thought the car parking was free on a sunday.

User

My husband and I visited for the first time yesterday, wasn't sure what to expect . Had a game of mini golf...it was freezing but had good fun. Went for a coffee and cake but only downside was it was very understaffed and had to wait ages to be served. Had a little walk around but I'm sure we didn't see half of what there was. Looking forward to coming back in the spring

User

Lovely day out. Children did low/high ropes, youngest had a wobble but after extra encouragement and a second chance he succeeded. Finished out with fab lunch and then painting in the gallery. Overall a fabulous day.

User

Love what you've done with the place but you need to get some speed bumps on the main approach to the hall, either a dog/child will get knocked down or an angry dog owner/parent will eject a motorist from their vehicle. Mark my words.

User

Loads to do for a day out with the kids but also nice place to go fora walk

User

Please can the green keepers or who ever is in charge of the golf course, loosen your purse strings or pull your finger out and sort the greens out. They are shocking to say the least

User

Went to the drive in movie. Thought it was well organised as we got there early. However we were parked right infont of a lamppost and underneath the exit light which was blaring into our car. Emailed got rold it was passed ti a manager, but due to no response it is with sadness leaving this review as we love haigh x

User

I recently played the golf course, I loverly course, but I could not believe the state of the greens( browns) for £18.50 I would expect better, no excuses they where a disgrace, we played the beacon the week before and got a discount because they hadn’t been cut, at least they where green and not burned, if you can’t sort the greens out then at least tell ppl, so they can make up there mind if they want to play
