Haines Hounds Dog Training Description

Positive Reinforcement - Clicker Training & Behaviour 1-2-1 sessions in the home - Trick Classes - Advanced Classes - Outside Training in Milton Keynes.

All of my training involves positive reward based methods /clicker training. There is no pushing, pulling, shouting or choke chains of any kind.
I am firm believer in the calm approach to dog training, you get out what you put in, so be prepared to work hard with your dog!

I am experienced with lots of breeds and cross-breeds as I have spent a lot of time working in rescue kennels in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire & Northamptonshire to help the dogs who have a wide range of issues such as aggression, hyperactivity, boredom and anxiety.
I have also fostered for different rescues and have re-homed dogs myself who did have quite severe behavioural problems.

We've been super busy over the last two weeks, sorry for lack of photos!! They will all be uploaded over the next few days. Photos of pop-in's, day sitting/boarding and walks in the evenings/weekends. Picture 1 - We love sleeping puppy pictures! Nala is all legs at the moment, she is growing so fast!

Picture 1 - Dee & Di have been working really hard with Izzy & Mila over the past 12 months to build up their confidence around other dogs, they are both now happy to walk within small groups of dogs off the lead and even instigate a game with others. It's lovely to watch them interact with other dogs, they even met up on a little walk and enjoyed each others company!

Happy Birthday to one of our oldest and dearest customers, little Bobby-Dog!! He's a rescue dog, and although we don't know his real birthday, we believe him to be around 15yrs old! His age doesn't slow him down at all, he loves nothing more than running around with the youngsters, and making sure they're not having too much fun! 😂

It is so important to make sure your dog walking equipment is comfortable, and allows free movement of all joints, without putting pressure on any sensitive areas or preventing natural movement from your dogs legs or neck. We have always been a huge fan of the Perfect Fit Harnesses, due to their fantastic design they fit all breeds, crossbreeds, tri-pawed dogs, and those who have a habit of escaping harnesses. They are comfortable, washable, strong, and can help to aid loose lead walking. We are now proud to be stockists of the Perfect Fit Harnesses, we can measure and fit your dog to their perfectly fitting harness in the comfort of their own home! We are delighted that so many of our existing customers choose to use Perfect Fit Harnesses for their dogs! https://www.dog-games-shop.co.uk/perfect- fit-fleece-dog-har…

Keeping your dogs claws short is so important for lots of reasons, video starring D'fer who is quite happy to sleep through having his claws clipped! Did you know that the way your dog walks can be altered by the length of their claws? We cut our dogs claws along the 'alternative cut line' which you can learn more about here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_contin ue=2&v=MM4HQDb1Ef0
There are lots of ways of keeping claws short, and some dogs are certainly more willing than others, but for those who really struggle, join this facebook group and follow their desensitising advice and videos: https://www.facebook.com/groups/nail.main tenance.for.dogs/

It's so lovely to see someone helping their dog through a scary situation. Supporting your dog when they feel unsure of new experiences helps to build trust in your relationship and helps them to feel more confident in approaching new and different situations. I love this video!

This week we welcomed beautiful baby Ellie (pic one) to HH! She enjoyed her little solo walk to the river to paddle around! Everyone else have been keeping cool in the rivers or with pop-in's for cuddles, treats and toilet breaks

Natural enrichment at it's very best!! You'd think Dax would be a tad less adventurous at 9yrs old!!

We welcomed Loki & Marcie to our dog sitting service this week, they are fabulous to look after! With the heat our services have been altered, only dogs who enjoying swimming have been coming out for a 'walk' which involves very little walking at all! Instead their 'walks' consist of collecting the dogs in a cool air-coned vehicle, driving to the river, staying at the water whilst the dogs lay in the river, swim about of their own accord and paddle in the shallow bits and th...en getting back into the air-coned vehicle, laying on damp towels with bowls of cool water to travel home with. We don't throw anything into the water, the dogs are encouraged to be calm and swim naturally. As you can see, we're all looking pretty cool! For those who are elderly, brachycephalic's, or do not like being in water have pop-in's instead of 'walks', where we practice calm mental stimulation games, snuffle mats, scatter feeding, and playing in paddling pools in the shade of the garden or on cool mats.
