Half A Dozen is the studio in a shop offering studio spaces to rent and art classes for adults and children, providing a supportive environment for all.
Halfadozen Studios Description
Half A Dozen is an artist’s studio offering contemporary art and design direct to the buying public. A space run by practicing artists, Half A Dozen is the opposite of the traditional studio and gallery space and in that the artistic process is not hidden from view. Situated in a shop front, Half A Dozen is an artist studio and shop in one. Engaging directly with the public, the mystery of the artistic process is laid bare and boundaries are dissolved thereby developing an ongoing interaction with the public, buyer, collector and the wider creative community.
Half A Dozen is committed to supporting the studio members in their endeavours to create work to shift the paradigm of contemporary art within a commercial perspective. We aim to support projects that may not always fit within other conceptual frameworks, offering practical support to artists, enabling them to develop new work on their own terms. Half A Dozen places great emphasis on allowing artists to explore emerging elements within their practice.
By using a shop as studio space, Half A Dozen creates the ideal foundation and basis for an introduction to contemporary arts practice for the local community.

Come and join us this half term holidays for an exciting week of art classes! Delivered by professional artists Veronika Seifert and Basil Olton, with a combined experience of 20 years delivering children’s workshops for the likes of Tate Britain, The V&A and Camden Arts Centre, children can create marvellous works of art and explore their creativity through painting, drawing, ceramics and collage.
