Halfords

I used to find Halfords in Loughborough a helpful and trustworthy store, but now I've changed my mind. I went in for a car light bulb. I was twice given the wrong advice about which one to buy, and ended up making three visits to get it fixed. The fitter was excellent but the advice was careless and unreliable and wrong.
Further, when I went to pay, I was asked for my email address "to send me a receipt". Turns out that this was actually to send me marketing emails, but this was not mentioned.
I do not like being misled, so two stars.

Took my rollator to see if they could adjust my brakes. John from the cycle dept. checked the brakes and found that the fault lay with the lever mechanism which he could not repair. Despite spending over an hour trying to repair the fault they would not charge me. Halfords are 5 star in my book.

Very poor customer service from incredibly rude staff, I went to the bike parts section and there were no staff in sight, having gone over to the main cash desk and waited around for 10 minutes someone arrived at the desk. I asked for what I wanted and the guy said 'we are showing 5 in stock, but we can't find them, they might be upstairs.' I said the website says they are in stock' he replied 'that's the website for you, we've probably used them for repairs, so tough' Wow, what a great ambassador for Halfords.

Great range of stuff. Very helpful staff - especially for the bike service.

Worst halfords I have ever been into the staff here are very rude and unhelpful and do not understand the meaning of customer service. The treatment I saw of an old lady by a female member of staff here was shocking. I asked for a simple brake pad and the way they handled the situation they couldn't care less and literally just seemed very unmotivated to work. I asked for a refund and got the item somewhere else that was more expensive only go in there if you now exactly what you want and otherwise good luck

Bought myself a bike today. The dude that helped me was very knowledgeable & helpful.

The Loughborough Halford's continues to impress me with its quality service.

Very unhelpful staff work at the Halfords shop in Loughborough. I was going to buy a bicycle for my wife. We asked for a women's bike with the frame size 18-20 inch. When we started to check information from stickers of bikes in the showroom, we discovered that the most of bike sizes are not available in the stock of this Halfords shop. As a result, we wasted a lot of time. The most of staff members are very ignorant. Another issue is very unhelpful staff which just gave us one of their computers to choose the bike from the website instead of giving any advises. The most of women's bikes in the showroom are very small (14 inch frame) which makes impossible to ride (or to sit) any of their bicycles. Employees say that they are not allowed to extract larger bicycles from the manufacturer's packaging, unless customers are going to make a purchase. In such case why do they keep in the show room just small women's bikes? I am very frustrated with the service provided by Halfords... I would not recommend this store, because you have a risk to spend a lot of time with the very bad service!

Very unhelpful verging on rude guy on counter don't think he wanted to lift his head from computer screen, younger guy was more helpful although neither seemed to know what a starnut was .
