Halfords - Burgess Hill Store

Excellent experience

Walked in to spend £1600 on a bike. I knew exactly what I wanted. It's a bargain for the spec, only available at Halfords. The staff were completely uninterested in helping. The young man basically shrugged his shoulders when I asked if it was in stock. "I don't think so" was the response and that was the end of our interaction. I will spend a little more in a shop that appreciates my custom.

Excellent service! I placed an order online and soon after I called the Burgess Hill store and asked if they had the balance bike I wanted in stock, which they did and I asked them if they could assemble it for me and they said that it wouldn't be a problem.
I got a text message telling​ me it was ready an hour later which is what the guy I spoke to said. When I went to the store to collect it Mark help me to adjust the seat to suit and also hepled me to put the bell on the bike.
This is what I call an excellent service especially on a Saturday (usually a very busy day and not all staff are this helpful) Thanks for being so helpful Mark!

Absolutely disgusted with halfords Burgess hill. I bought an old Raleigh pioneer. Nothing wrong with it just needed new breaks other than that it rode a charm. I took it for a silver service in halfords and regret it. It came back and the gears were rattling and there was a lot of rubbing and rattling. I took it back and they were adamant there was no problem. I showed them in store and the old boy gave it a go. After complaining I got a refund but now I have a bike with dodgy gears, rubbing tyres, rattles all over the place. They asked if they could put it right but I'm in two minds to get it serviced properly and send the repair bill to them too.... Absolute joker's. It's a bike shop, you have one job!!!!

I had a puncture and went after work not knowing if they could do anything.
A polite guy replaced the inner tube in 10 mins, it cost £15 in total

I am very pleased and can recommend them highly.

Update: further visits not as good, got bike back and the chain was not on correctly, some of them are better than others, pot luck who you get

Been to this store on several occasions now and always found what l needed but always been disappointed with the ground floor staff, the cycle dept upstairs have been very helpful and professional but the car dept don't seem to be interested one bit, its either understaffed or they need a new manager with a better understanding of customer service.
My advice is to go elsewhere unless you know what you want and where it is!
