We picked up Sindy yesterday a 5 year old Pomeranian who came from a puppy farm, where she was used as a breeding machine. We were given lots of information to read about ex breeding bitches. We didn't go with a specific dog in mind and they were happy to show us all the dogs they thought would be suitable and we clicked with little Sindy. I scooped her up and took her home.

She settled with us instantly. She went straight to the garden to do her business (despite never having been toilet trained) and curled up on my lap in the sun. I can't believe how much her little tail is wagging. Thank you so much.

We were very impressed by the rescue, everywhere was very clean and all the dogs seemed happy. We weren't pressured into adopting and could look around the kennels at our own pace. The two ladies were absolutely wonderful and very happy to show us round all the dogs and to answer any questions.

To anyone thinking of adopting from this rescue please please do! I came to the rescue some years ago whilst studying Animal care and behaviour at college where my group volunteered and I was so happy to see the place still going and still as lovely. x

We picked Arthur up (2 year old lab) 2 weeks ago today, and he's slotted into our family perfectly, he's so relaxed, happy and loving. It feels like he's always been with us how comfortable he is in such a short time!!

He simply is just an amazing dog!

As for Halfway Home Dog Rescue, the people who work there are friendly, dedicated and really care for all the dogs there. They were very helpful with any questions we had about Arthur.

If you are looking for a place to adopt, I would look here first, you don't need to be local (we certainly weren't)! Every dog deserves a forever home :)

This rescue centre is the best. I have adopted from Val twice, both staffies and they have made my life so happy. Thank you Val, to Anne (Woods) who took Mason to the rescue after he was abandoned) and Janice who was kind enough to take me to get Mason to adopt as I don't drive, and to all the rest of the staff/admin/walkers, who work so hard to keep this the best rescue ever.
