Hall and Coates is an established outdoor shop, based in the historic port of Whitby and set in the heart of the stunning North York Moors.

Established as a family outdoor business in Whitby more than half a century ago, Hall and Coates is set in the shadow of the town's famous abbey among the cobbles of Church Street.



Proud of Whitby's heritage, we have retained many of the original shop fittings in this Georgian Grade II listed building, including our historic wooden counters and displays, while adding some modern touches here and there.



As the town's oldest outdoor specialists, we are the number one destination for outdoor enthusiasts, stocking everything from tent pegs and torches to wellies and walking boots.



We also stock some of the world's leading clothing brands, including Craghoppers and Fjallraven, and have recently launched a range of bushcraft accessories for all the budding Ray Mears and Bear Grylls out there.



For those who enjoy outdoor hobbies, we sell a wide variety of knives, slingshots and air rifles and we have also added archery sets and crossbows to our range.
