A lovely gesture by the year 10 pupils at Rowhill School, Aldershot who produced this stunning artwork ­¤ÖÅ
Students James and Lucas present the colourful stained-glass plaque to Councillor Stephen Reid, Executive Member for Education and Skills.
The eye-catching lead and glass artwork was designed and made by pupils. Councillor Reid had admired some small stained-glass pieces on show at the school, and pupils and staff decided to make a larger piece specifically for display at... our headquarters in Winchester.
Accepting the plaque, Councillor Reid said: ŌĆ£This is a stunning piece of art, and I would like to see it displayed in a public area where it can catch the sunlight and be enjoyed by as many people as possible. The pupils have shown skill and talent in working together to make it and they should be extremely proud of their work.ŌĆØ
A group of pupils came to Winchester to present the artwork to Councillor Reid with Head Teacher, Urmilla Choubae along with business manager Tanya Gray. After the presentation the group was joined by the Chairman of the Council, Councillor Elaine Still, and given a tour of the Council Chambers.
Rowhill School caters for vulnerable children, aged 11-16 years, who for a variety of reasons are unable to attend mainstream schools.

They were put forward by their colleagues who wanted them to be recognised for their hard work and commitment to excellence.
We're lucky to have such a strong cohort of talented and dedicated apprentices working for Hampshire, and managers and mentors who make the effort to bring the best out of them
We currently have more than 70 trainees and have signed up more than 100 apprentices since April 2018. We're committed to developing our apprenticeship scheme by expanding the range of new programmes being made available at all levels from Level 2 to a Masters at Level 7.

Advance works for the completion of Phase 1 of the Eclipse Busway are starting today - a 1km busway extension to the existing route.
