About Hanover Aviation Limited

Hanover Aviation is an illustrious name in the field of air cargo. Formed in 1985 by Allen Skinmore MBE for nearly 20 years it was the involved in every relief operation funded by UK Overseas Development Agency (now DFID) ranging from the genocide disaster in Rwanda to helicopter support in Darfur Sudan. It worked for the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Angola in the mid nineties providing aircraft to supply food to the force in very difficult circumstances. It has also had a close working relationship with the UK Crown Agents assisting their logistical efforts in various parts of the world with aviation support. Since 2003 the Company has been working with the Central Bank of Iraq flying in currency to support the new government and prior to that the Coalition Provisional Authority. As part of this endeavour Hanover Aviation FZE was established in January 2009 with Offices and warehouses in Dubai and Sharjah. Latterly Hanover Aviation has moved into Aviation Management and have formed a strategic partnership with Expo Aviation of Sri Lanka to market a DC8-63F to exploit what is perceived to be a gap in the market for medium sized, long range freighters. The aircraft will be based in the Mediterranean region and at Manston, Kent with the aim to operate around Europe and Africa. The intention of this Joint Venture is to open up new markets, specifically Juba in South Sudan and Mogadishu in Somalia, where the DC8 can land with maximum payload.
