Hello all Adele here. I just personally wanted to thank everyone who attended our dog show today. Despite the clouds turning a little grey it was a fabulous day. Lots of happy dogs and people (and the resident animals looked happy with the extra love also). Can I ask if anyone has any photos they don't mind me sharing could you please PM them to myself (Adele Lillia Rose) . Thanks again to everyone involved!

After reading Jenny's story about the escapee goats, it reminded me of our first ever rescue. The amazing Hollie. She originally came from a petting farm that had closed down, and her favourite hobby was jumping over the fence, to seek out a new adventure. Imagine the local postman's face when he felt something "butt" his Butt, on turning round he see's Hollie, she'd decided to help him deliver his mail, he felt he could manage the job without her, so took her to a local far...mer to keep in his field, till owner could be found! Hollie wasn't having that, she wanted excitement. So off she went to Wythall train station, not sure what her destination was to be, but a shocked & bemused gentleman noticed she was wearing a collar with an identity tag on. Hollie must have been devastated, just as her train pulled out the station, he rang us to say, he'd just stopped Hollie getting on a train, would we like to go pick her up? This story is true, no names or places have been changed, for the people who knew Hollie, they will tell you, she was one extraordinary lady. She was the start of Happyfields, and will never be forgotten.

Here's the link to our charity dog show! We are so excited to see everyone tomorrow. Please can everyone invite, share and post to groups that may have people interested. This dog show is going to be pawsome!! Don't forget we will have a bouncy castle, glitter tattoos, a variety of stalls, grooming with donkeys (if they are happy to take part, they normally are) and warm food. Entry is free!!! (Please keep dogs on a lead and under control. This event is being held at Happyfields Animal Sanctuary and the Sanctuary animals safety is paramount).

Jenny here, hope to see as many of you as possible on Sunday, it promises to be a fabulous day! It has been a tough year for Happyfields, not only did we lose Eric the goat, but we also lost my personal special friend Malcolm (picture from when he was a baby) and everyone who follows this page will know about the injury Aggie suffered recently. It has been stressful for Chrissie and the wonderful volunteers and sadly very expensive too. The weather also delayed when we could ...open to visitors and hay prices have increased already as farmers have had reduced hay from dried out fields, which also increases costs. Sorry to moan but I know how much you all care, and the success of this event means a great deal to the sanctuary. You will get to see sweet Aggie, Colin the goat and all the other gorgeous residents. You also get to meet Chrissie who is one of the kindest and most hard working people I've ever met. Hope to see you on Sunday. Thanks again Ally Lou Lou for organising everything, you are a star x
